Is your friend some kind of inside source? Or do you feel like retracting considering the reports now coming from all sides that the trade is off.

Mrm32 is a decent guy from the Hangout. He wouldn't lie. Maybe his friend is just misinterpreting things.

He works for the Rockets. He hears things not sure how much on the inside he is.

This is just like the Iran talks. No deal is better than a bad one.

    Not necessarily.

The Contract itself declines in trade value as you reduce the time over which the sum is amortized. In other words, the relative value of his last year's salary increases versus the cheap price of his current year's salary.

On the other hand, Asik's trade value will be impacted by a number of other factors as well.

    -Asik's performance on the court
-Injuries to other centers in the league
-Play off positioning of other teams
-Win/Loss records of GM's that may be on or near the bubble in terms of losing their jobs

There's a ton of things that can happen over the next 2 months that can change Asik's trade value, several of which could seriously increase his value -- especially for those teams making a push for the play offs.

Haha I wasted so much time!

I bet Morey gets a deal done without anyone really suspecting it

Who can blame them? Would you give 15 million for a 10/11 center in the NBA? Hell No. Robin Lopez could easily exceed that given the play time Asik got last year for 1/3 of the price.

Which goes back with my stand from day 1- develop players as opposed to trolling other teams for their's!!!

That's what I thought too. Maybe a small convo went on how they haven't found a good deal but are still working to move him.

I'm fine with holding onto Asik....if the Rockets can get him to put on his damn uniform and play(and hopefully with a little heart). The problem is the guy seems to so hellbent on getting traded that he's already decided to quit on the Rockets. Reminds me of Derek Bell's "Operation Shutdown".
