Interesting.

Below is what I commented on when we first learned about this self-imposed deadline.

For now it appears as if the interest was lukewarm at best, and thus the auction nature of the process further hurt the value. There weren't any real suitors, so DM had no leverage.

Honestly, we have no idea what Asik will do.

Considering that the trade deadline is still 2 months away, and Morey made reasonable efforts to trade him, it could go either way. Asik may take it badly, he also may just keep playing and see what happens.

As for future trade value, a lot of that will also depend on future injuries and win/losses by other teams.

The demand for a Center can go up and down very quickly during the season.

Who wants to be traded? Asik

Who can help that effort by leaking that Morey told Asik's agent that there won't be a trade? Asik's agent.

This is just a bluff, double bluff. Turning the screws on the teams bidding for asik, so that Morey can squeeze that extra 2nd rounder in 2038.

 

What does this mean? And why is King Drew echoing it? He is related to Mark Berman if IIRC.

 

This doesn't sound as odd anymore.

 

It was all for the show. Morey did not plan to trade Asik since the beginning.

DMo didn't play, may be in package? In other hand Smith got a chance to show-up, it also may be other team request to see his values, if he has some.

Asik to Celtics, TJones and Jeff Green to Wolves, Love to Rockets ?? Would trade Smith for any 2nd rounder.

 

The Boston package was garbage. Glad Morey took a step back.
