its looking real good for REDNATION overall, not saying omer was crying but he should have been a professional about this and the depth is good but not title good yet. hopefully morey can pull a hell of a trade today or in feb. to help this team in both depth a perimeter defense. we are fortunate to have a good bb team, a great GM and an owner who will not settle for being mediocre like the team off of Kirby
Yes, they lost some games they should have won...and maybe won a couple they should have lost. The key is the development of team chemistry and it takes some time to get that. D12 has been improving every game recently and now is playing at a very high level. I'm looking forward to seeing the roster settle out with Asik moving on and then integrating the new pieces into the mix. Next February we are going to see a team capable of competing for the championship.
Before last Phoenix game, one ESPN article stated that we had the 3rd easiest schedule in the NBA up to that point. (this was just before that difficult road trip) That concerns me a bit. Especially because since that article, our schedule got more difficult and we have gone 4-3.
This is why I hope they don't trade Asik for the sake of trading him if the right deal isn't available. This team has shown it can handle distractions just fine. 26 games into adding a new superstar, dealing with injuries and we're 8 games over .500? I'll take it. And LOL at calling the team off Kirby "mediocre".
The season overall has been decent considering everything. The team will get better once the roster is settled and with game experience playing together. Most thought OKC and SA would be great. POR is kind of replacing LAC record-wise right now. Be nice if everybody started losing more often. Was thinking 55 wins for us going into the season, but think we can do better. 55 wins isn't bad though.
I'm with you. I don't want to trade Asik either--unless it truly makes the team better. Dwight has shown that he gets into foul trouble more often than not and it would be great to slip Asik in and maybe even more so on B2B situations. I do believe that the TT could work against a very limited # of teams and situations so for the good of the team, I really wish Asik would suck up the pride/ego factor and move forward. We paid him more than any other team to be here for three years. Not to mention, his salary triples next year. He should look at Yao's career and be ok limiting himself some this year for the preservation of his career. Big men can play much longer in this league than guards. He'll have an extended prime and likely net 3 more contracts from here.
The Rox are definitely in territory they haven't been in a while. They are in the conversation when talking about teams who have a chance at championship. This team still have concerns (consistent effort, defense, bench dept., etc.) but are still in the thick of things currently. Even with Rox issues they are still a very dangerous team and capable of beating anyone.
17-9 is very impressive considering everything that has happened thus far. Losses to teams such as Jazz, Philly, Lakers and Kings could have been avoided but even with those disappointing losses, having 17 wins with 50+ games left to play leaves us in a pretty good spot. Remember, this is our first season with Howard, we weren't supposed to be this good this early on. Add to that that our main guys have missed more games this year than all of last year and missing 8 million of our salary cap with Asik wanting out the past couple of weeks, then 17-9 is more impressive. Just give us time to blend and get everything in place. This team has already shown to be special.
Should be 21-5. Those losses to those teams with less talent will hopefully not come back to bite us for seeding in the top 4 in the west come playoff time. Yeah our record is good. But this team can be great. Think about the differences of the the top 4 teams in the west that are currently ahead of us and they have just been together longer with exception of POR. Just stay healthy, cut down on the turn overs and we will be ok.
