4 years for driving while high. That's pretty strict when a rich kid gets off after killing a family while driving drunk.
I dont understand that bit about the charges being thrown out because he didnt have a lawyer present at sentencing?
I guess it's because he's a repeat offender but when people are getting zero jail time for actually kiling others... It does seem messed up.
You should have heard of him unless you're a new fan of basketball. He played for the Kings about 10 years ago. Wasn't very good but was a big inside shot-blocking presence.
side note: What's up with Kevin Harlan narrating dunks over Shawn Bradley and saying "He sucked the gravity right out of the building". lol
At first I thought that 8 years seems excessive for possession of a gun and weed. However, then I saw part of his rap sheet... it only goes to 2008. =x http://www.shamsports.com/2010/01/where-are-they-now-2010-part-13.html Looks like this guy was clearly a massive, habitual offender... I'm guessing the judge didn't feel like they had a lot of choice.
Hmmm, locked up for 4 years for driving under the influence. But no jail time for killing 4 people while driving drunk....
Threw it in like Dwight's contest winner and Griffin vs Knicks from couple years ago. Likely a habitual offender. Did sound weird.
I agree. Maybe its minimum security prison, with very early chance at parole? But yeah, the US legal system never seems to dish out the correct amount of justice.
