Seriously though we need to trade Asik fast, his value is dropping rapidly. Dude is playing with no effort and just going through the emotions.


Trade Asik for Shumpert/Bargnani and call it a day.

Mavs fan here, sorry for invading your board. Why dou think the deal is awful?
I would agree that the Rockets can probably get better value for Asik elsewhere, but Marion would be the wing defender you guys are currently lacking (not to mention that he can also slide over to the PF spot if needed, as he frequently does in Dallas). He might be 35, but he's still averaging 12/8 without taking shots away from better offensive players.
And Larkin has been very solid the first few games that he's played, he would be more than just a throw-in.
Again, i think the Rockets will eventually get a better offer for Asik, but it's not like Marion+Larkin would suck or anything. He's still the Mavs best defender.

 

Numbers don't work. We would have to trade Asik and at least two low contract level players just for bargnani. To get both Lin has to be involved.

 

Asik and one of Brewer/Brooks/Smith is enough salary to get that deal done for Bargs/Shumpert. All the same...won't happen. We don't want Bargnani for another year guaranteed after this one.

 

Not so sure that's a legit trade. But I will say this:

Shawn Marion is EXACTLY the type of player this team is missing right now.

Ability to play/defend multiple positions, including on the perimeter? Check.
Three-point shooting? Check.
Can run the floor? Check.

Again, not saying the Rockets should trade Asik for Marion. Just that the Rockets would be significantly better with Marion added to this team.

No. Bill Ingram is trash. He trolls Rockets fans for a living.

Also, it makes no sense to trade for Larkin. Lin/Bev/Brooks/Canaan already with our organization.

And he purports to be both a Rockets and a Mavericks fan. I'm sorry, but if I may quote "Ghostbusters", you can't cross the streams or all life as you know it will stop instantaneously and you'll find yourself confined forever in another dimension.

Me? I hate, hate, HATE losing to the Mavericks. And Ingram thinks we want to help them with a great defensive center?

Then if that's the case, let's make the trade now, because if we had any, ANY perimeter D, we'd be 11-2 right now.
