The 6'6 PF is back playing for arguably are worst enemy though: the Jazz. He had a solid game yesterday, 13 points on 5/8 shooting in 22 minutes against OKC. His career has been up and down, I hope he can stick around and have some great games this year!
I think Mike Harris has signed a total of like 5 or 6 different contracts with the Rockets during 3 or 4 separate stints. We used to have the annual Mike Harris signing every spring.
Is Memet Okur still alive? As long as he is alive I will hate the Jazz. Good on Mike Harris. A Texan who is finally reaching his NBA goals at the age of 30. Hard not to root for.
Don't really hate Carlos Boozer now that he's been with the Bulls for several years. Besides, Carlos has a brother named Charles-- same name, except in English. How can you hate a guy like that? That crew is all gone... hell, Ronnie Brewer is even a Rocket now.
Mike Harris lives! My all-time favorite Rice Owl, and one of my favorite journeyman Rockets! May he stick with the j*zz and lose to us in the WCF every year for the next ten years!
Wow did not know he was back in the NBA. That is sticking with it, James White is another guy that returned to the NBA when he was 30 and lasted a full season with the Knicks. I wonder what he's doing now.
Yeah, I'd go so far to say as I liked him better than Ricky Pierce. I'll never forget seeing him play against #1 UConn with Okafur, Ben Gordon and Villenueva at Autry Court. JVG was sitting in the front row. Calhoun had the brilliant plan to put Okafur on Harris. Harris destroyed him. Jim Calhoun's "note to self" Don't put your traditional center on an NBA-quality 6'6 tweener in college.
Seriously, the P word (potential) is so overrated. You could do much worse than having this guy as your 15th man. If injuries happen, he is guaranteed to produce when given a chance. Can't say the same about a guy like Ronnie Brewer.
