Interesting. Seems like Thorpe gives Asik pretty high value.

Interesting food for thought. Somehow I really don't see two playoff teams in the same conference making a major trade.

The miami trade would be the ultimate risk for both teams. Huge coup for Morey though who could say he eventually did get Bosh.

I'll do any of those trades he mentioned in a heartbeat.

If we got Bosh for Asik that would be incredible. I don't see it happening, but I would LOVE it if it did.

It would have to wait until the trade deadline so that we could package salary filler like Brooks, Brewer, etc... but it would be pretty great. Bosh would be a nice complement to Dwight's game, he can play center when Dwight is off the floor, and he can step out and knock down that midrange jumper to clear up space inside.

I think Bosh would like it too as far as getting traded goes. He should get the ball a little bit more in Houston than in Miami.

    Probably a pipe dream though.

Getting Dwight and Harden was a pipe dream too. In Morey we trust.

I don't think trading for Barnes would help us win now.

Keep Asik, 48 minutes of rim protection > Chris Bosh.

I could see that more as a three way trade, but the question then becomes, who would take Barnes, and what would they give us? Maybe Minnesota (Love) or Portland (Aldridge) if they're thinking more of building around their point guards?

Hard to beat a package like Barnes + D-Mo + Canaan + 1st round draft pick if you're Minnesota and you're thinking about trading Kevin Love.

Bosh honestly isn't much worse of a defender than Asik and he's WAY better on offense. He can also play 33 minutes per game instead of 25.

I think maybe people are discounting one possibility,

    <insert Morpheus meme?

What if I told you Asik will outplay Dwight and solidify his position as the starting C....

Okay, maybe not... but it's still a possibility..

Getting Bosh in some kind of package deal centering around Asik, Brooks, D-Mo, Casspi, 1st rd Pick for Bosh, Battier (could interchange Rashard Lewis is need be "more than likely"), filler would be more of the scenario. This kind of deal would keep the Heat good and would actually make the Rockets WAY BETTER. If Morey made this deal. We would tentatively have the best team in the NBA. The depth we would have would be incredible.

    ^ No it's not.

The rest of the NBA if Morey successfully trades Asik for Bosh (Breaking Bad spoilers)

Bosh would be perfect. He's an all-star level PF that can stretch the floor, score in isolation, play pick and roll defense, and also fill in at backup center. His stats may not look great, but he definitely steps up his game when Lebron and Wade are out. I can't see us getting him, but if Miami wanted an all-defensive lineup they would ask for Asik and Bev at the minimum.

If Harden, Howard, and Bosh are all Rockets after having Lin, K-Mart, and Asik as our "Big 3" a year ago...Morey is God.
