Per NBA.com: http://www.nba.com/history/players/west_bio.html Considering the adulation this board gives to a certain nerdy GM and his IQ, I'd say Jerry West's epic track record speaks for itself.
Glad to see that there are plenty of people who see Kobe for what he really is. A Jordan obsessed wannabe with no social skills who only looks out for himself. Dwight left LA for 1 reason and it was a damn good reason. Kobe. You don't play basketball with Kobe. You play basketball under Kobe and he makes sure you know it! You the man Dwight! You may be immature but you have amassed enough wisdom to know a bad situation when you see one. I never really got to watch Bird or Magic play. Only highlights but I know that both Bird and Magic both saw Jordan as the man. There are quotes from both giving him the highest praise that can possibly be given so I still stand by Jordan.
Larry Legend, no contest. Runner-up, Arvydas Sabonis. High BBall IQs on both ends and everything in betweeen.
This. Honestly, it's just freakin' incredible how awful most of those Jazz teams were outside of Stockton and Malone. Stockton made guys like Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley look like stars. Putting Nash and Chris Paul above Stockton is just silly, IMO. Also, Arvydas Sabonis needs to be on the list. Him and Bill Russell gotta be the top 2 centers for basketball IQ, but I don't know what order they go in.
Where is there room for guys like Chuck Hayes? Players with humongo intelligence but not that much skill (comparatively). What about Ryan Bowen? Dude played 10 years in the NBA and made $9 million with very little in the way of talent. He had to have a good BBall IQ to do that.
