It would seem hard to believe that the Astros will lose a 100 games for a third season in a row. They are on pace for 55 wins. Usually in baseball a team is good for 60 wins and 60 loses and what they do for the other 42 games determines their season.

I haven't seen win loss odds for the rockets, but 55 seems like a solid number. If they get lucky they might have a shot at 60 games. If they have a bunch of injuries they might only get 50 wins.

    So who do you have?

Texans will have more wins because they show the game on national TV for free.

I think you should wait until after the trade deadline to assume the Astros will win more games. The Rodon sweepstakes is just heating up.

I really wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets had more. It'll be close if the Astros go on full tank mode for Rodon.

It would be best for both teams if the Rockets end up with more wins.

That would mean A) the Rockets are true contenders, not just on paper and B) the Astros get themselves a left handed stud.

    Thanks Clutch.

As for the poll question, I'd be thrilled if the Rockets get a win or two more than the Astros. With the trade deadline coming up, I'm expecting a whole new level of tanking to separate ourselves from the Miami's of the world.

I think the Astros will win anywhere from 55-61 games. Maybe that's a bit optimistic, ha. (33 wins right now through 97 games.) I think the Rockets ceiling is 55-57 wins.

Yeah, I can already hear you guys: You're putting a ceiling on the Rockets? You're crazy. Ha, I know.

In my way, way too early prediction, I think the Rockets will be 57-25.

The Astros are cutting the dead weight from the major league team (admittedly, at times it's tough calling them one), and I wouldn't be surprised if they ride the influx of young talent from the system to a few extra wins. Operative words being "a few." 60 wins.

Good question. I have to go with the Rockets. I think they'll win closer to 60 games. If the Astros are smart they'll tank the rest of the way and try for the number one pick again. I think the farm system is finally getting better and in 3 or 4 years they might finally be a .500 ballclub.
