I'm not the biggest fan of soccer, so I'm like the futbol equivalent to casual NBA fans that root for players and not teams. Still, I'm sure most of you guys have a favorite soccer player, right? My favorite is Neymar, he really got me into watching soccer even outside of World Cups. I haven't seen crazy ball handling like that since Ronaldinho.
My favorite, The Professor/The Architect, AKA Andrea Pirlo. Watch him for a master class in footballing. Neymar, eh... The best player I've ever seen (I'm mid 30's) with my own two eyes is Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.
If he was Dutch he would probably be my favorite player. But i cannot have a german being my favorite player. That being said, I do not really have a favorite player. I'm a fan of teams, not really of players.
Gareth Bale - what a complete player. Mario Goetze - Fun to watch. BVB really missed his play making ability in the Champions League finals.
I guess if I had to pick one right now, it would be Clint Dempsey. I enjoy seeing Americans have success in the top leagues and he's the one at the top right now. For a non-American, Ryan Giggs has been my favorite player for many years. It's a damn shame he's Welsh. Could have done big things for England.
Ronaldinho, most skilled player of all-time in my opinion. The dominance he displayed during his prime at Barca is nearly unmatched in history, brought the joy of football to every viewer. Still watch most of his games with Mineiro, he may be slow nowadays but you can still see the magical touch.
Of all time is Dennis Bergkamp. Perfect mix of touch, power, speed. Just the perfect striker. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/eVLRMWjHa0U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
