Yes, you are right about big man, and Yao was a classic example. However Larry Sanders' instance is not a good comparisan to TRob. As mentioned on League Pass the other day (I forgot what game I was watching) the argument against Sanders winning MIP award is that his numbers are up only because his playing time is up--just like Asik's.

I just checked out his career stats, and this indeed seems to be the case. Sanders' ppg and bpg are up double from last year only because his minutes are up double. TRob is a whole different situation. Today against the Magic TRob for example played like 12 minutes and had 2 points, 2 rebounds. Doubled a year from now would give him 4 points, 4 rebounds in 24 minutes...which, yes, is improvement...but is tht the kind of improvement we want in our starting power forward? The NBA has short patience for players to improve; if after a year-and-a-half you are not at least decent then you have to start looking at options overseas. Right now TRob should be developing in the D League--just like DMo, and Morris, and Smith did.

Agreed. Which is why it's good that it hasn't even been a year yet.

Since we are going to use single games as a sample size, let me offer these:

    • Earlier this season against the Heat, T-Rob put up 10 pts and 10 rebs in 24 mins! Double his mins, and that's 20 rebounds per 48!
    • In another game against the Memphis Grizzlies, T-Rob managed to score 8 while hauling down 12 rebounds in only 21 mins! Could you imagine if he had played 35-40?!

I hope you can sense the bit of sarcasm here, but you might want to wait a while before making judgements about a player that has played a total of 2 games and 21 mins in a Rockets uniform.

CH, DD is back from rehab, sounding like John Lucas. I nominate him to lead your intervention.

Remember when "The Lowry-Dragic vs. Lin Tracking Thread" was created after the first game of the season?

Or the "Jeremy Lin is a Joke" thread after 7 games?

    Let's not jump to conclusions.

BTW, someone posted "I'll give Robinson 7 games before ..."

    March 3rd
    Patterson: 17 mins, 2-4 shooting, 5 pts, 2 rebounds, 0 steals, 0 assists, 1 block, 1 TO (vs CHA)

    Robinson: 18 mins, 3-4 shooting, 10 pts, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, 0 block, 1 TO (vs DAL)

The troll that hijacked Carl Herrera's account slinks away and starts throwing rocks at small children and puppies.

Robinson's quickness and energy were really on display tonight. He seemed a little overly aggressive at times on defense, but still good effort.

More poignantly, this is done in Patterson's third year in the league.

This is Robinson's 3rd game with the Rockets in his rookie year.

No matter what the outcome and how Robinson eventually turns out, this is a trade you HAVE to pull the trigger on as a GM, Mr. Herrera.

Good to have a PF capable of rebounding.
Carl, you know you messed up when JCDenton reps you.

I was really impressed with his ability to take guys off the dribble. He dribbled the ball up the court a couple of times, and drove from the 3 point line. He is ultra quick.
