Monta Ellis gets a bad rap because hes an inefficient chucker. You are comparing a guy thats under 20 ppg and not even shooting 40% to a guy who is one of the most efficient players in the league on 26 ppg. Guess how many times Elli has shot over 44% the past 3 years? zero.
Parker has been great this season but Paul has had the better season. Not to mention Paul is way more valuable to his team(look at the advanced statistics and its not even close). Spurs can win even without the big 3. Clippers struggle to win against scrub teams without Paul. They did well for a few games then they struggled to score against bad teams like the Raptors. Cp3 is a 1st all nba team lock. To me Parker, Kobe, Wade, Harden are all pretty much playing at the same level. Its hard to say which player is the clear cut best.
Are you stupid or what? All star caliber? He had one good season that might have been all star caliber. Inefficient scorer that makes the offense worse. Decent playmaker, terrible defense, bad at every other aspect, low bball iq. Terrible TS% and offensive rating. Barely an average player based of PER which favors chucking.... To be frank he is a net negative player and flat out abysmal.
You obviously can't read. This point has been repeated 5 times, and been refuted 5 times. It's like talking to 10 year olds. 10 year olds who haven't been taught to read. Brandon Jennings, alleged seeker of a max deal, continues to rank only so-so by these sorts of metrics, and since the Bucks are a camera team, you can bet they know this. Jennings has recorded a ho-hum 5.8 drives per game, and the Bucks have scored just 1.06 points per possession on trips when Jennings does drive — one of the lowest numbers in the sample. Monta Ellis is both more prolific (about 8.0 drives per game) and a more efficient engine of team scoring (1.30 points per possession) when he does drive. Ellis remains an underrated offensive player in this sense. He can bend a defense in compromising ways, and his passes have always produced a higher-than-expected number of shots at the rim and open 3s for teammates. It makes you wonder how good Ellis could be if he stopped shooting so many long jumpers (24 percent from deep on 3.5 attempts per game is basically sabotage) and learned to play acceptable defense. Also: As for Ellis, that's simply not the case. In fact, using this formula, he's the league's 24th-most efficient player. For the record, that's best on the team—only David Lee (29th) and Stephen Curry (37th) are in the top 50—and fifth best in the division. He also has a higher ranking than the fanbase's dream acquisitions: Nene (28th), Andre Iguodala (40th) and Danny Granger (48th). What's more, he's ahead of Western Conference All-Stars Tim Duncan (39th) and Manu Ginobili (44th). http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ellis-is-the-most-underrated-guard-in-the-nba
Seriously guys, grow-up. If the argument's been refuted - that argument's been refuted. Don't re-bring it up with an insult. That doesn't make the argument any more valid. You're not 10.
Your an idiot. All this article says is that Ellis generates a lot of points on drives and he would be a fairly good offensive player if his shot selection was not utterly abysmal. The point stands that Ellis a terrible offensive player that needs over 17 shots to get a measly 18 points. You have nothing to stand on but a bleacherreport article that doesn't even prove your point. Yes ignore the fact that he has an offensive rating of 97. TS% of 47%. I will say it again. You have no idea what you are talking about.
If you could read correctly, you would have seen that the Bleacher Report article used the formula you used for efficiency to show that by that formula, Ellis is more efficient than players considered "efficient scorers", such as Manu and Tim Duncan. Unless, you don't believe that Duncan is an efficient scorer. Really, debating this further is a waste of my time. You actually can't read, so I don't see a point in continuing this further. It's like explaining college mathematics to a 10 year-old.
Also, it's "*you're" an idiot. If you're going to insult someone's intelligence, you might want to be able to nail a grammar rule that a 3rd grader would.
This thread needed to be bumped: As a stfu lesson for everyone in this thread. Let this be a lesson to all those who spewed insults to me: Leave the NBA player discussion for fans who know about basketball, so you don't end up eating crow again. When Ellis signs this off-season to a playoff caliber team, media and casual fans will do a 180 just like they did with Chauncey Billups. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwsGwH81ZyE /end
I don't think you can call yourself a fan who knows anything about basketball when you think one game proves anything about a player. A game in which he still only shot 37% from the floor.
LOL, Ellis is horrible. Freaking chucker man. Dude got lucky on one shot while he shot like **** the rest of the night. Get over yourself. Ellis isn't on Harden's level.
Parker deserves 1st team over paul. 21ppg, 8 apg, 54% fg vs 16 ppg, 9.d apg on 45% And im not even talking about tean record. Parker is the best player on the best team and he is playting mvp like. The other first teamer should be between paul, kobe and harden. Wb and wade are second or third team at best. Ellis is nowhere close to all nba team.
