I know its premature BUT with the progress this team is making in such a short timeframe you have to wonder what Morey is thinking regarding assets/trades etc. This is a fascinating team to watch, probably the most "interesting" in the entire NBA based on the unknown factors: new team, lots of new players with upside, youngest team in the NBA and lots of question marks regarding how they will play together, etc.

Tonight (and the past 10 games or so...) has shown that this team is a high-flying group with HUGE potential and dare I say playoff aspirations (Definition: not a championship team but a team that could do damage in the playoffs, as in win round one, and make it interesting in round 2 and maybe beyond...). Morey HAS to want to see them grow more and see if the exponential improvements continue or whether they stagnate. Thus, I don't think Morey does any major trade at the deadline and honestly, MAYBE (just maybe) he is thinking that a D-M0, Jones, Smith type could emerge as that missing "star" player (or heck, maybe its Lin or Parsons??) who can put us into championship or "contender" status. Give us the requisite 2 stars to compete.

It makes one think that Morey might want to hold on to the cap space to keep this team together. We are sitting pretty for the next 3 years (including this one) but if the team continues to have success with Lin, Asik, Harden, Parsons and DMO, Jones, Smith-- money will have to be spent to hold the team together as it currently stands, not including an additional superstar. I'm not saying that is necessarily the right move for the future but it HAS to be in Morey's thoughts right now. Why spend the max for a Josh Smith type (who is probably our most realistic target) when we might have players emerging who could produce at that level already on the team? And not only 1 player, but possibly multiple candidates? I mean, if Omer "FREAKIN" Asik continues is double-double barrage and increases his PPG to say 15 then he is approaching Dwight Howard territory--something no one thought he could even graze the surface of. I'm just beginning to think this team could suprise and Morey might think twice before making any major changes in the near future.

Lots of complaints about the ESPN announcers tonight. Mostly the complaints about the lack of compliments about Rocket players. I have to agree that the ESPN announcers weren't really good, but not because of they weren't complimentary enough of Lin/Harden/Asik/Parsons, rather they stopped doing play by plays during garbage time and just ran off on so many tangents. That was the most painful for me to listen to. In general, they weren't very entertaining, but at least they weren't as bad as the announcers on the Lakers/Knicks game.

And hey, "deceptive" is a good thing. I don't get the sensitivity about that. I think it's great that Lin is deceptively quick and that Harden is deceptively strong, mainly because that means people can't quite see how good their games are and therefore can't properly defend against it.

Anyway, the Roxs are playing great, but what is impressing me the most isn't so much the offense, but the 10 turnovers. Did you know that over the last 7 games, the Roxs are only averaging 12.7 TOs? During this same stretch, their opponents are averaging 12.9 TOs. This includes causing Rondo to have a career high 7 TOs in that game against the Celts. Not bad for the youngest team in the league.

Partly, but i think it's the coaches allowing lin to play has more to do with it.

    Srsly.

Starts at about 5:11. Starting with a Lin -> Parsons -> Asik for dunk. Says it at about 5:19. Could anyone be more biased?

I was expecting a "Wow. Rockets are finding all the holes in the Bulls defense" or "Parsons with a great pass to Asik" but, instead, I hear "Jeez" as if to say "why are the Bulls just letting them walk in. WTF?"

Maybe I'm just oversensitive after no talk or highlights of the Rockets during halftime. I mean one measly clip of Lin making a jumper. Where's the commentary on Asik's return to Chicago and how he outperformed the Bulls starters? Where's the observation about Harden's efficiency in scoring the last few games?

    ESPN. Meh.

NICE. I hope Noah cries himself to sleep. Hate that guy (carryover from hate for his father, former french tennis player Yannick Noah, a sorry excuse for a human being. It might not be fair to hate a dude for the sins of his father - but then again, he's french so f-it, F you Joakim Noah).

Actually, he was. We continued to lose the lead starting with Harden-Uglas, then continued to lose the lead with Lin-Uglas. The bleeding finally stopped when we went back to Lin-Harden. Although I wouldn't put it all on Uglas. Smith made at least as many obvious defensive mistakes along as Uglas did during that stretch. When Harden returned so did Asik. Defense tightened around the Bulls after that and we regained control and widened the lead after that.
