He's played extremely well in Europe though, so I'd take the old reports with a grain. Expect his game to have expanded very well.

Lol so now McHale would bench Lin and Douglas and play this guy but he wouldn't play all the 1st round picks?
First off: Good signing. Beverley is a legit PG. I'm actually surprised he hadn't gotten an NBA contract until now. I'm not saying that he's a top-flight rotation player or anything. Just that he belongs in the NBA. Second, I'm guessing that Machado's the likeliest casualty of this signing, since he's almost earned up to his partial guaranteed salary and waiving him would cost the team only a minimal amount. He wasn't exactly destroying the D-League. Also, keeping larger expiring contracts (Cook, Aldrich) on the books will help the Rockets stay more flexible with trade possibilities leading up to the February deadline. Third, if it's true that Beverley is being signed through 2015, I'm guessing that it's a deal similar to Machado's. Three-year deal, with only the first year guaranteed. I'd guess that Beverley gets a full guarantee for this season (as opposed to Machado's partial guarantee). Only small chance anything is guaranteed in Year 2; and I highly doubt anything is guaranteed in Year 3. (FYI, if Year 2 is non-guaranteed, Beverley becomes a nice trade chip leading up to the draft and over the summer.)
Trust in Morey. Dude does his homework. If he thinks he's got a good shot at being for real, he probably does. He doesn't lay a lot of eggs when it comes to nosing for talent.
Seems logical enough but the question then is when does this guy see the floor and where? Does he go to the Vipers and prove his worth there or does he sit on the end of the bench and pray for 3 minutes once a week? I'm guessing he is good for Morey to sign a 4th point guard just wish I knew what Morey knows.
