If you want Lin and Harden to work you have to trade Parsons for someone who doesn't take as many possession to score. Starting a spot up 3 pt shooter would allow Lin and Harden to do their thing and when they defer our new SF gets it off quick and doesn't interrupt the flow of the game.
It may just be one game, but it gets factored into the sample, and Lin will see a noticeable bump in his scoring and efficiency stats after tonight. And outside of the statistical significance, you can't deny that Lin needed this one. He needed a game like this bad.
Maybe he did, but it doesn't really matter to be honest with you. My point is this... When is Lin at his best?... When he is being aggressive to try and get his own shot or get to the bucket, or when he's trying to feed Asik or Patterson in the post or setup a shooter on the wing? I personally think he's at his best when he's thinking shot first. I like having another ball handler with Lin because it free's him up in the offense to move around a little bit off the ball before he gets the ball to either makes his move to the basket to breakdown the defense or get his shot off. I personally think that playing with Douglas helped take some of the PG duties away from Lin tonight so he could focus more on scoring aggressively, and also allowed him defensively not to have to guard Tony Parker on every single possession even though nobody really had an answer for TP tonight as they rarely do.
Our coaching staff is about as bad as it gets. Wouldn't surprise me if they stick to having Lin camp out in the corner and play the role of shooting guard on offense. What kind of moronic coaches would have a guy that's never played a minute in his career as a shooting guard and expect him to play well.
Didn't we already establish that Sampson is coaching out of his ass? Torocan has some really good numbers on defensive impact of each players on the rockets. Lin has consistently been rated as one of the better defenders.
I beg to differ. You should look beyond what happened in this game. If anything, this serves as a wake up call to coach McHale and his staff.
This is great for the rockets, his stock rises and maybe we can get some nice compensation when we ship him out for someone better.
