Does McHale have another play in his playbook other than high Pick&Roll or Iso Ball? I mean this is ridiculous. Call it a knee-jerk all you want, but we will continue to lose games if we hold the ball at the half-court line and run a Harden/Patterson P & R. The ball isn't moving around, there are no backdoor cuts, there is no liveliness to our offense. What gives? It's incredibly frustrating to watch and it was extremely ineffective tonight. McHale didn't make a single adjustment.
To be honest, I don't know why Lin was inserted back into the game. Douglas did an AMAZING job defending Lillard. Sure, Linsanity came alive late in the fourth, but it might never have gotten there if Douglas was on Lillard the whole time.
+! When All the starters cam back in we lost the game Douglas, Harden, Asik, Parsons and Mook brought us all the way back. Yet McHale decided to put in Lin and Patterson in with too much time on the clock. I feel Douglas completely took Lillaiard out of the game..
Frustrating, yes it is. However, I think much of it has to do with us only having two practices with our most important player. I could be wrong though. Our ball movement was much better in preseason, but that was really a different team.
predictable offense , we need more plays Pick n rolls at halfcout is becoming very predictable as seen by the defense of the blazers tonight, mchale needs more variety to our offense because defenders double teaming ball handler forces us to shoot to many 3 pointers. Also someone that can score in the post is needed obviously. What the consensus?
He need to go. Team full of 2nd year they need instruction &coaching during crunch time instead him sitting there watching.
We need a pf or center that can command a double team in the post. Not one that's standing behind a 3 pt line.
We need a legit post player who can find his own shot with his back to the basket. Morris and Patterson's game relies on finesse. We need to experiment with Jones and Donuts, to be honest. Jones looks like he could bang with the trees inside the paint. Otherwise, Lin and Harden will get worn out.
Thats on coaching...or lack of... I was so frustrated that Jerermy kept passing the ball right to Harden once Lin got to the top of the arc... If it is your goal to get your best player a successful attempt...they should have Harden receive the ball in the low post and let him operate from there...the lack of post play has finally caught up with the Rockets...and that on the coaching staff...
I agree. McHale looks like he's not a coach to me. He looks like a regular fan like us. He needs to motivate guys more. I dont think he understand what a coach is supposed to do.
