Just Fegan trying to make it appear that where there is smoke, there is fire. In this case though, that's not the case. Call his bluff Morey.

Isn't funny how every report that comes out about Howard that doesn't include Houston is a fake? Yeah, that is kinda strange.

We know that we're not his first, second, third, or whatever option right now. The key with Howard is right now. He changes his mind. He will re-sign if he's traded here.

No. The article says Orlando believes its offer from the Lakers is the superior one. It absolutely does NOT say that it's "more appealing to the Magic".

There's no doubt that the LA offer is "best", in a vacuum. Andrew Bynum is clearly the second-best center in the NBA, is only 24 years old and has accumulated his massive numbers as merely a second/third option. In a league where stars rule and quality beats quantity, it's hands down the best offer of all, including ours. However, the Magic are reportedly not interested because of both his contract situation and long-term concerns over his knees.

Even so, it makes sense to leverage your "best" offer on the rest of the league, even if it doesn't work for Orlando's specific situation. i.e., "Can you beat an Andrew Bynum offer"? Standard negotiating.

So if you were managing a company and were looking to gain assets from another top company with great accounts, wouldn't you try to make it seem that all the other companies had a much better offer on the table to try and squeeze as much as you could out of the other company?

Pretty basic business strategy imo and I'm far from a business guru, believe you me.

The biggest reason I want Morey to land Howard is just to see your posts after.

Good, great, move on... should not even be a consideration at this point. I would think most Rockets fans hold the team in higher regard than to even rent DH.

I think we have more pride and would rather see our rookies develop.

If you can make a trade in the next two years after the youngsters' value has risen, great. If they reach or surpass their potential and we then have a home grown All-star, even better.

Just give up this idea that DH would stay if we could just get him her.

It’s starting to feel kinda creepy, like the Rockets are stalking someone who never wanted to date them in the first place.

Orlando Front Office could annouce there not trading with the Rockets and people here would call it a bluff and post a trade scenario lol.
