Can we unamnesty Scola if our offer sheets are matched? If so, this could just be a cap maneuver tactic.
Why would you want him back though? I thought one of the GARMs major complaints about Morey was his addiction with power forwards. We're finally getting rid of one and you want him back?
Wait so there is "no correlation" between this and a Howard trade? WTF? I really hope Hennigan is just straight up lying to the reporters faces.
And we already gave OKC problems last year. Of course, we'd be a much different team this year, but at least we still have Chandler Parsons who proved he can give Durant trouble.
If they don't get Dwight i think they prepared to aim for high lottery picks for the next 3 or 4 years.
If Morey's plan doesn't go through, this team will be virtually unwatchable. Longer than that in all likelihood.
And to develop the plethora of PF's behind Scola. Scola is just not in the Rockets long term plans, regardless of if we acquire dwight or not. They tried to trade him for cap relief earlier in the offseason.
Regarding Woj's tweet about CP3, can someone explain how we could sign him next year if we take all of Orlando's bad contracts? We still have to trade Hedo's and Richardson's contract as expiring next year for that to happen right? Yes? No?
It seems like everyone on the board should be celebrating right now. On one hand we might have a player you can build a team around, and on the other hand we are finally ready to rebuild. It's win win from my perspective.
Rockets will use amnesty provision on Luis Scola to clear cap space in pursuit of Dwight Howard Is he saying we can take back the trash and still offer CP3/Dwight moneys?
Sure. Howard + Turkey Glue + Duhon + Richardson = $40.4M this season. That puts us right around $18M under the current salary cap. They will all get raises next season, but the cap may go up and/or a guy like CP3 might take slightly less to sign here. Now obviously if we only take back 2 of those bad contracts (say, Richardson and Duhon) we will be WELL under the cap.
Exactly. Scola; I love the guy and he is durable as all hell, but he is sitting in front of a buttload of PF's that need playing time to get better.
I am very unhappy, Luis can get us a late 1st round pick at least. I hope a contender will pick him up. He has been a hero for us. I will miss him a lot.
This may be a stupid question. I am assuming that letting Scola walk is to make room for the big splash trade that is supposed to be brewing. If the trade doesn't happen, does that mean that the amnesty won't happen as well?
