    Bingo!
Morey is desperate to re-assert himself as THE Rocket of Rockets in fans' eyes.

Has the offer sheet already been handed to Lin? Maybe the Rockets haven't given the offer sheet to Lin is because they want to see if they can land Howard or not. If they can, we're in a win now position, so maybe they'd re-up Lin's contract to the point where its not desirable for NYK to match ala guaranteed 4th year so that we'd actually have a decent player at the 1.

If we take two contracts off their hands, that should be enough. It's not like they need that cap room to sign a max player. Having Chris Duhon on their team isn't going to cripple their future flexibility because no one is going to sign with the worst team in the league.

The Howard chase gets worse every day. This team is falling apart after chasing a star, again.

Duhon jrich d12 for torontos pick Dallas pick jones Martin white. That's all I'm gonna give up. If they want to add hedo, they better take scola.

    D12 Dmo
    Scola patpat
    Parson Morris
    Jrich lamb
    Douglas Duhon

Competitive team. Depending on patpat lamb Dmo and Morris progress, we could be a playoff team.

Well I for one hope your right, and I hope that Morey is dealing for Howard as if though he would be a rental.

Just to lessen the amount of assets he would have to trade or lessen the amount of bad contracts he would have to take back in a trade.

I just hope he's pursuit for a star doesn't blind him into overpaying for a disgruntled star who doesn't want to play for this franchise.

This further highlights why we are a good trade partner for Orlando.

They covet picks and young talent more than cap relief, as they're going nowhere soon.

We have picks and young talent, but don't want to be saddled with so many bad contracts that we can't get a 2nd star.

If Hennigan is aggressive but reasonable, this should get done.

This will go down as the worst trade in Rockets history!!!...Worse then Eddie Griffin trade...even worse then the Barkley trade. Years from now..we'll look back on this trade and say...that's the one that set us back a decade:eek::eek:
Rockets could have a quickly rebuild with all the players with potential and picks we have and be competitive in 2 -3 years...but if Howard leaves..get ready for a decade of suck! If Howard leaves Rockets will be worse then the Bobcats..yes the Bobcats:eek:You can tank the right way...Developing a young core of talented players or you can tank the wrong way..trade all your prospects for a player who will leave for another team...and the Rockets will be left with no prospects, no future...:( and were gonna have to watch our sorry team while..Lamb, White, Montijunas and Parson excel and turn into All-stars on the Magic...Barf!!

That's right, we will see. As I said, I'm not opposed to including what I consider to be a great amount of value in picks, young talent, and established players, and to take on a bad contract or two, depending on the size of those contracts, but some of what I've read recently reeks of desperation to do a deal, no matter the cost. I sincerely hope that isn't the case with the front office and that most of this "noise" is being produced by agents, other teams' front offices, and the media. Not for a rental.

History dictates that Morey will not be taking back all those bad contract and trading away young talent for a superstar. Pick one Orlando, but you dont get both. Check out previous superstar trades:

    Carmelo Anthony trade:
Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

    NY gets:
Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

** Denver got young talent , NY didnt get stuck with terrible contracts from the trade

    Chris Paul Trade:

    New Orleans gets:
Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul

    Clippers get:
Paul, and 2 2nd round picks

*Clippers did not pick up any terrible contracts, just gave away young talent

Everyone relax. Rockets have the leverage since they have the most to offer and no other competition. Morey knows what hes doing.

So Dwight walks after a year and we're stuck with 3 crappy contracts for the next 2-3 years.... brilliant... :(

Something you aren't considering: Everything that you have considered, Morey already considered a year ago, reconsidered it, went to go take a dump, and then considered it some more. By now, he is already considering things people on this message board won't be considering until far into the future, when such considerations are all but pointless already.
