I wish you could lock thread starting privileges to prevent anyone with say, less than X number of years on the board or X number of rep points, etc. from starting a thread today/tomorrow. Set the bar really high. The GARM gets overrun with threads being started by newish members just wanting to say "Murry is working hard!" "Maury keeps us on our toes!" "Who will we draft" blah blah.
A lot of newbs lately, many creating [pointless/unnecessary] threads with their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd post. I agree, time to go on "lock down mode" today/tomorrow.
I agree with this. Also, it might be easier to have one "twitter" thread where all the updates go. It's pretty annoying to see new threads created for tweets like "rockets getting close to 5th pick"
This is another great idea. Would be great if a clutch crew member would start the official twitter update thread. Combine that with a lockdown on who can start threads and the quality of the GARM would really improve for the next few days.
The site needs a twitter sidebar or module. Packed with all the RELIABLE sources so people don't post up links from fake twitter accounts.
How about a thread wiki? Like they have on slickdeals.net? Any new/useful updates go under the OP so people don't have to go through tens of pages to see a new tweet or tidbit. It can be controlled by anyone with a certain amount of rep.
This is a great idea. 50 different threads covering 4 different topics. It is getting a little ridiculous.
Seriously Clutch Crew: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=221916 Howard or no Howard it's all good
Had already merged it three minutes before you posted, might want to give us time to get to them...we are all working at the same time as babysitting this board.
It's times like these that I wonder why anyone would even WANT to start a thread. Whatever is on your mind, there is already a thread for it. I guarantee it.
I agree with you but you always find some people that think they have an "original" and great idea, that can not be lost and buried in a 15-page thread, so they have to start a thread.
I don't know. It's internet Darwinism out there....I've only made like two threads which I thought was interesting and they both got buried within a day or so. Do I still want the ability though? Hell ya:grin:
The board has been swarmed by several trolls (probably troublemakers with a second account), since free agency began, and I certainly don't envy the mods having to clean up the turds they are dropping all over the board.
