If the Rockets "LOW BALL" Dragic, it will be pandamonium. The Rockets can offer more money and more years, and higher raises, all things considered Gogi can easily stay if the Rockets are not cheap assed bastards. DD
You're not in his head, so you can't say that. If there is a possibility it can sway him to stay, then its worth trying.
That may be the most naive thing I have ever read on here, you know what will sway him? $$$$$ and a starting job....period. DD
What do you think the market will bear? If Portland were to throw him, say, 4 years $50 mil, you'd offer him something like $5 years, $65 mil? Be specific.
You know who has experience dealing with him regularly and has some basis for knowing how he is? The Rockets coaching staff and front office people. You know who doesn't?
That is the only way you win in this league you KEEP your better players - and keep them as....wait for it.... ASSETS..... You need larger contracts to flip if you want that superstar later. Can't trade a bunch of nothings for one. DD
You know what is irrelevent other than your post? Well, your post. His agent and Gogi will make the call if the Rox offer what they can he will stay. If the Rockets are ****ING CHEAP ASSED DIRTBAGS and pull a lowball PR stunt like they did for Gortat...they will lose him.... DD
If the Rockets aren't willing to give him the starting job and at least match the highest bidder, all the rest is probably pointless. I will agree to that extent. But we don't know yet what the Rockets offer will be, so at this stage doing everything we can to convince him he's appreciated by his teammates and the city is a good thing. It can help put him in an agreeable state of mind to want to return. But the job isn't done there, agreed.
You need contracts that people actually want to trade for if you want to flip it. Otherwise, the Ben Gordon contract, the Rashard Lewis contract, and (formerly) the Gilbert Arenas contract, the Eddie Curry contract and the Steve Francis contract would been flipped for superstars. Having significantly overblown contracts is the worst thing you can do to a franchise.
Pay him and he will stay. Low ball him, like you typically do, and chances are he will bolt. I doubt even Jamal Mcgee would make a career decision based on twitter.
Most of those guys were traded or flipped. Gogi will be in demand, he is not any of those players you mentioned he is an up and coming top 10 PG in the league. You pay those guys, you DON'T let them walk for nothing, that is poor management. DD
