Ok I'm going to get slammed for this but I don't think it's that bad? People say all the time there is a lot of Asians,Mexicans,Indians,etc.. (Is this not racist?) So should we be politcally correct and say Asian-American,Mexican-American,Indian-American..? Maybe Asian folks, Asian People, Mexican folks, Mexcian people, Indian folks, Indian people. Now obviously there is many choices here? Blacks , Africans, African-American, Black folks, Black people. It almost seems like a double standard? FYI I'm not white or of European descent
Bruce Leroy? Maybe because it's the only national seafood restaurant chain? People laugh at what they can relate to, no matter what race they are.
I think it's a stereotype black people are trying to perpetuate to show they've moved on up to the East Side from friend chicken to lobster.
only place i had heard it from previously was from black comedians. don't ask me to quote any of them, my memory's not that sharp. As for biscuits, Popeye's is much better than KFC, it's not even close.
I am unaware of this stereotype as I find Red Lobster disgusting, so I never go there anyway. Seafood should be home-cooked (or, on special occasions, from an expensive restaurant).
African american ? please. what a joke. I agree what are the choices? Ever been to pappadeauxs on richmond for sunday brunch?
I guess you really do sea food differently. ZING!!!!!! Oh yea oh yea. On a serious note I completely agree. A glorified Skippers/long john silvers with servers and jacked up prices? No thanks.
My Mom loves the lobster at Red Lobster. Any time she gets it somewhere else she always finds fault with how it came out one way or another. So, she always prefers to get it at Red Lobster. I'll have to go with the parental units the next time they go there. I'll report back on the races I encounter.
racism will exist as long as people identify others by their ethnicity. i also find using politically correct terms tiresome. arent we all americans if everyone lives here?
