There arent too many players in the NBA that play with the chip on their shoulder that Lowry plays with. That guy always plays his best when he has something to prove. When he comes back, I think we will see him at his best once he gets a few games in and remember why he should have been an all-star this year.
That can work for a while, but there is only one ball, Dragic is better with it, he gets it. And Lowry is too short to be a catch and shoot guy. Dragic & Lee is better than Lowry & Lee DD
I hate that argument, you keep the better player, screw worrying about the money, give me the best team on the court.....period. I don't care if Le$ has to pay players, then ****ing pay them..... Give me a championship team, and I don't give two craps for how much it costs. DD
Yeah it's kinda funny. I was a Lowry guy when Brooks was starting, and now that Goran is pushing for the job I am still a Lowry guy. I feel like it's the Brooks fans (*cough* DD *cough) that are looking for any reason they can find to malign Lowry and justify their previous position. Hence the percentages; Lowry's still better, people are just looking for a reason to oppose him. This is probably how the Republicans and Democrats got started I bet.
Oh come on, you were complaining that Lowry was overpaid before. I would love to keep Dragic but unless Dragic is a substantial improvement over Lowry it makes no sense to give him a huge contract when we already have Lowry for cheap.
obviously kyle. But Dragic can play the role of our version of manu. Come off the bench and stay in with lowry during crunch time. 30 minutes sounds ok.
All I can say is that I have admired Dragic's play ever since I watched him on the Suns. I recall his reputation has experienced some valleys here on Clutchfans, but I think he's the kind of player you'd (preferably) fight to keep when his contract is up.
Yes that is true, but Dragic gets his teamates better shots - look at the passes in traffic, you just don't see that vision from Kyle or from my old buddy AB. Dragic has the best of both Lowry and AB.... The Lowry people that like a traditional PG can enjoy his setting up his teamates, over 9apg as a starter, and the Brooks folks can enjoy Dragic's ability to beat his man off the dribble. Personally, I believe Dragic will be better than both Lowry and Brooks.....so I would do everything possible to keep him... And to top it off, he is not short and stubby like Lowry, or short and weak like Brooks, he is tall, athletic and wiry strong.... Honestly, I think you can win with ANY of those 3 as starters depending upon the make up of your team, but I think Dragic allows you to be a lot more flexible in the surrounding team, as he makes others better by creating for them and getting great looks for his teamates. Do you think it is any surprise that Parsons and Scola are all of the sudden shooting higher percentages with Dragic starting? They are getting a lot more layups.... DD
Well yeah cuz you aren't the one paying it. Why don't you donate your life savings to pay for the Rockets luxury tax? Then you can complain about not caring about costs.
Why the heck would I do that? I am a fan, I want the best team, don't you? Who cares about the money, put the best players on the floor, period. You don't win by letting good players walk out the door for nothing. DD
You guys are already assuming that Les and Morey will let Goran walk in free agency because they want the "cheaper" option????... are you serious???... Did you not take your meds tonight or something? The front office has said nothing about bringing, or not bringing Goran and Lee back next year. I would have to assume that since they obviously dont want to loose games, and want to improve the team, that they would obviously want to do everything they can to bring back those two players next year. There is no doubt in my mind that Lowry is the better PG although Goran is a very, very good PG. Lets just see what happens on draft day. Obviously the front office has alot of tough decisions to make in regards to those four players Lowry/Martin/Lee/Dragic. Lets just see what they can do to retain 3 out of the 4 or get a deal worked out to move a player out of Martin/Lowry. That Brooks for Dragic/pick that was traded with Brad Miller for Donatas Montiejunas was the deal of a lifetime. That was a 3 for one deal actually.
Nope. Lowry gets more open looks for his teammates. Remember the transition offense I mentioned? The problem is that the recipients of Lowry's passes have usually been a slumping Scola or a slow-shooting Martin. I see Parsons getting a lot of layups, but they aren't being created by Dragic. And I see Scola taking the same open mid-range jumpers as before...he's just hitting them now.
Dragic has looked very good since he's been the starter but the key thing to keep in mind is that Kevin Martin has been out nearly the same amount as Lowry. I feel Lowry's numbers are bogged down a bit by that black hole Kevin Martin gobbling up seconds with his dog and pony act. Dragic / Lee is clearly superior to Lowry / Martin but I put most of that on Martin being a completely worthless basketball player. Lowry has done nothing to lose his job, but Dragic has shown that he is a true point and more than just a slasher / shooter. Case in point tonight, bullet bounce pass to Scola for a wide open layup as soon as Scola flashed open under the basket. A+ Court Vision. I don't know if you can go wrong with either guy starting right now.
Good night Irene. They both turn the ball over the same per 36 minutes. Goran keeping his dribble alive is what sets him apart from Kyle. It forces the defense to react and the other guys to get better looks. Look at our team assists and shooting percentages since Goran became the starter.
Always the fan favorite until they actually have to play, and then if they suck they're not the fan favorite any more. However, Dragic hasn't sucked, he's actually played very well. So Dragic justly deserves all the love he is getting from the fans.
