Given a golden opportunity yesterday against the 3rd string nets he failed miserably. I was hoping he would prove everyone wrong, but when he took 3 straight shots and missed them, at the end of the 3rd qtr, he showed his cluelessness. He is probably one of the nicest guys, a happy attitude & big smile, but his game has deteriorated to the point of being laughable. Is it because he was unprepared? Has he forgotten how to play? Have we killed him, by nailing him to the bench all season long, thus destroying his confidence, ala T-Will? I hope today that he realises that it is a golden opportunity for him to produce...he could be the next Jeremy L.... So the question is, what is his ceiling?
I'm confident Jonny will be on another team before even 25% of Rockets fans realize his first name isn't spelled "Johnny." (sorry ... carry on)
Flynn is pretty freakin awful. His rookie year he actually looked like he could be a player in this league, so i was hoping we got a steal on a buy low guy. But he just dribbles far to much, and really doesn't do anything well. He can occasionally get past his defender, but then he'll miss the shot or make a bad pass. If he learns to control his game he still may find a place in the league, but he's terrible right now.
He is not good in our 3-point swinging offense. He will be good in the Knicks type running offense and some kind of penetrate and kick offense.
there was a commercial for the nba finals in 2001, where this teenager could not pass the ball they had to get the bball squad led by jason kidd to finally let go of the ball. Flynn reminds me of that teen in said commercial. he will be the jeremy lin of the venezuelan leagues.
i guess it's fair to say he's the 3rd best point guard on this team at both penetrating and running the pick and roll, but he doesn't look particularly talented out there. he turns down picks so he can dribble the ball some more and when he does use it he misses the screener.
There was one particular play wine he was calling several plays and Parsons had to call it & show him the correct signal. SMH.
Even more shocking is how Kahn can draft Rubio and love but then pick Flynn and wes Johnson in the draft. Must be pure luck with love/rubio
