Jarrod N Rudolph @MisterRudolph Magic Rumor: I was told by multiple sources that Otis Smith will "aggressively" pursue Steve Nash before the trade deadline. https://twitter.com/#!/MisterRudolph/status/173901513138241538 Interesting...who would the Suns be interested in besides JJ Redick and Ryan Anderson? Is that enough to get Steve Nash? Is Steve Nash enough to keep Dwight in Orlando? It would be fun to see them two play together, that is for sure. Couple more moves and Dwight might be more inclined to resign (not to mention his $30 mil extra he can make)
Otis Smith didn't correctly build around Dwight, and now it seems like the Magic make moves just to make em.
he can play out his contract and just leave as a free agent..without Suns getting anything in return. They have a 0% chance at winning the championship so maybe it is in the Suns best interest to trade Nash....
Interestingly enough, since we got Orlando's first round pick last year, they can't trade away their first round pick this year. So if they gave away any picks, it would have to be next year's, which could potentially be really high if Dwight leaves. They could lottery-protect it, though.
First off, the Magic have nothing to offer for Nash Secondly, how would an almost 40 year old player sell Dwight on a future with Orlando?
@arjun: Well then maybe they let him walk. If they want to get something worthwhile for him, trading him to Orlando isn't the answer.(as others have said) Yes he is 38 but Nash think he has another 3, maybe 5 years left. Whether he does or not, who knows. But it buys Orlando time potentially.
Steve Nash only has a $11 million contract, it is not like they will free up enough money to sign another big name player if they let him walk . Might as well get SOMETHING in return for him. Nash for 2013 1st round pick, JJ Redick, Ryan Anderson, and Daniel Orton
How old was Glove when the Sonics landed a prime Ray Allen for him? 35? Not expecting the Suns to get somebody of that caliber but can't they get better than Ryan Anderson, a first and garbo?
I wouldn't trade Ryan Anderson straight up for Nash if I was Orlando. Its not like they're winning it all if acquire Nash.
I really truly believe Nash will be dealt before trade deadline. It makes no sense for the Suns to keep him...unless they really aren't getting any good offers. But if Magic offer Anderson and JJ plus a 1st...I take it and run.
