There were many posters on here upset with the Sam signing - outside of tankers. Pro-tanking people ignore this thread. He probably doesn't look at Clutchfans but it should be noted that he's arguably been our best player this year. He wanted to come here when most didn't want him here. Last resort for Morey? And he even accepted a short deal when he really wanted a long term deal. And a cheap one at it. Thank you Sam for being a beast! You haters, I suggest you do the same...
I like Sam, but I don't think he makes us any closer to being a contender so it seemed like a lateral type of "Meh" move, now if they somehow win in the playoffs then it would make me change my mind. Right now though, it looks same as it ever did......but he is playing great. DD
Let us have a sample of 30+ before we reach any conclusion. I am a fan of the Bear myself but it is not that he is the 26 year old Philly Bear that could still play 30 + minutes.... he is exhausted
DDitto. Good for Sam doing what he is doing. However, he does not change the(my) outlook on the Rockets.
I wish we had a truly elite PF to go with Samuel. He seems to be aging in a very Tyson/Camby sort of way... More intelligent on the floor, yet he still has the physical tools to be effective.
Sam has been the difference between us being 3-12 and 8-7. Thanks Sam. Seriously, Sam is a 3rd big on a championship contending team.
Front court of sam dam and gasol......with Nene coming off the bench. Talk about what could have been ?!?!?
That's a bit harsh. He's getting significant PT on any of those teams IMO. Who the Lakers have backing up Bynum? Heat? I think for those teams he'd be a great luxury to have.
I thought chuck hayes was too important to lose according to this site. Sam has been playing like this for the last couple of yrs. Remember when the rox kept losing to the 76ers with yao? Yep, sam was the center.
If someone could look up my comment from last season where I said it would be awesome to grab Dalembert... Just saying I liked Dalembert before it was cool. Lol.
Considering that he signed opening day, didn't have a training camp, had to work his way into shape, learning play book, a couple of practices, came off the bench for first bunch of games....and his been this impactful already: kudos to Sam and he might even do better once those 30+ games occur.
I have to admit, never knew he had THOSE kind of moves. Regardless if you agree or disagree with the philosophy, to get a talent like Dalembert on such a fantastic contract was really impressive. Sammy is basically making the same as Kwame Brown...
He could play on the Heat....for a price.....considering the production, need, scarcity of true big men, and that friendly contract ...perhaps more than some might believe.
Good. As above mentioned a great athletic and passing PF that is still young would be good to pair up with Sam. I love Scola and his game but he is starting to regress IMO.
