I'm sure there were many of us that felt the same way about Kevin Martin before he was a Rocket, for many of the same reasons you stated above too actually
No. I think the entire strategy of spinning wheels to acquire assets hoping you can get over on someone to try to acquire batman is flawed. I think it's a huge mistake that I'm tired of watching.
daldridgetnt David Aldridge Rockets turning attention back to Nene, pushing hard to get deal done. Will almost certainly take $12-14M per year average.
So does this team: Lowry / Flynn Lee / T-Will Bud / Morris Gasol / Pat Nene / J-Hill screams championship at you? To me this sounds like a #5 team in the west. It smells like desperation: we can`t get a superstar and we can`t tank to draft one - so we at least try to stay competitive and get an aging star. The way this NBA is working right now we won`t be a contender for a long, long time.
It sounds like Nene should be had with a 13 - 14 mil offer that Houston can now offer. The Rockets must Amnesty Thabeet and try to find cap room to re-sign Chuck if he will take a slightly smaller contract than Sac is offering. Not sure if Rockets can use the MLE on Chuck. Having that depth in the post will be critical in keeping the best front line in the West healthy.
Notice the Hollinger analysis, the Rockets expected wins just decreased by 9! Damn. Could be a free fall for the lottery.
Would you whiners feel better if the Rockets then sign Nene? Lowry/Flynn Lee/TWill Bud/Morris Nene/PPat/Hill Gasol/Thabeet That's a hell of a frontline. The question is what kind of caproom will we have for 2012 by letting all 4 09 busts go?
I'm not the biggest Gasol fan, but you have to admit we brought a really good player along. Dragic would probably leave anyways, Scola and Martin were not going to get us very far, so bringing Gasol gives us a better chance to compete. I'm sure the Rockets are going to chase after Nene even more now and I bet we'll have him signed by the end of the night. I'm very excited.
ummmmm. He specifically said they were rebuilding. He said he knew it would be easier to rebuild through draft but that les was committed to being competitive while rebuilding
QUIT POINTING THAT OUT. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. just because memphis CAN doesn't mean they will, nor that he wants them to. that's the whole fukn point. jesus.
I feel you man, this one really hurts. It's up there with Olajuwon going to Toronto and Yao being forced to retire.
But then you are complaining about the past, not about the deal done today. You seem to just be using the deal done today to continue your anti-Morey rants.
+1 and it is so damn incremental, even if it does prove out. How many years has it been that we've been one more player away. Yeah, we might be better than we were this morning, but we sucked this morning. Now we are just not good.
