With Houston's luck, Roy will be dead on the court by the third game

    In Houston,

Healthy players have career ending injuries.

Already injured players would probably just die.

We FINALLY got rid of those two injury prone guys that have weighed our salary down for years... now you want us to sign a guy with bad knees that won't even get close to his previous form?

    No thanks

Don't get me wrong, before these knee problems finally caught up to him this guy was an absolute machine. One of the best offensive talents in the game. But all of it is gone out the door now. No point in signing him.

YES!!! Not to start, but still a good 6th man. And another player you can play during clutch moments.

Tragic is those healthy 'machines' are not available till they are broken down.

If Roy gets cut he should just retire. Seriously. It's one thing to not retire because you're getting paid 8 figures and isn't willing to forgo the paycheck. But if he gets cut, still get paid the remaining contract, he should take that money to start life after basketball.

As a backup, sure. If we trade away Courtney Lee, we'll have minutes for him.

Even if the Blazers amnesty Roy, there still will be other suitors our there that will offer contracts the Rockets would have to out match. Im not saying he would get the full MLE or possibly greater, but Brandon Roy will still come at a price that Im not sure I would be willing to pay.

Secondly, lets not forget how bad his knees are. Do the Rockets really need another Knee-Mack going in and out of the lineup?

no way. It was very clear that he is just a shell of his former self. He had his moments against Dallas during the playoffs last year, but you aren't going to get consistent play from him day in and day out. As a young team, the Rockets need consistent play, even from the bench, and I highly doubt Roy is going to give us that.

Not unless he gets that stem cell procedure that Kobe had done, it is possible to regrow cartlidge, the doctors are getting close to fixing that problem completely, though it is still up in the air as to whether it will work long term.

He doesn't really fit with the team. He would want major minutes and he wouldn't get those with Kevin Martin/Courtney Lee there.

Yep, and it's most likely that the Rockets won't even get the opportunity to make Roy an offer. Some team with a ton of cap room (Sacramento? Indiana?) will be able to make a waiver claim on Roy before he hits the open market. Odds are that an amnesty cut Roy doesn't get past those teams on the waiver wire.
