I think this needs its own thread. I know we're getting the sexy recruiting class next year, but our team this year is still exciting with Joe Young and Jherrod Stiggers. They played their first exhibition game against Concordia and released highlights: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/E6KK1ZHbfXg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> First real game is against Grambling State this Saturday.
Whatever happened to Washington? He was supposed to be the inside presence, had some issues with his shins because of his weight and looked like he was doing good. Now I check the roster at espn.com and he is no longer listed.
Washington transfered to Arkansas St. UH starting 5 last night G- Joseph Young - 6'3 FR G- Darrien Thibodeaux-6'3 SR g- Jonathan Simmons-6'6 Jr F- Alandise Harris-6'7 So F- Tashawn Thomas-6'8 FR Other players that recieved playing time last night Kirk Van Slyke- 6'10 JR Mikael Mclean- 6'7-So J.J. Thompson- 6'0 FR
Joe Young looked good last night. It was also good to see Van Slyke hustling. UVU was throwing a lot of elbows that game with no calls. Thibodeaux was getting frustrated. He need to keep his cool otherwise it's gonna lead to a technical eventually.

That was a heartbreaking loss against Oakland. We couldn't buy a basket from the perimeter. We have TCU at Hofheinz on Saturday so all you Cougar fans get out there and support the team.
Just saw that. I was surprised. We (Texas State) haven't been anything better than mediocre in the Southland for over a decade. UH, even with their own struggles, really has no business losing to us.
4 losses all by 3 point or fewer. While it's not much to brag about it is a starting point for a young team with over a week of until it's next game, against Oklahoma. The win over Arkansas looks good and a win over Oklahoma and a All-College Classic series win would look great.
