Haha. Cleveland, their teams' ineptitude is pretty much interchangeable.

I would trade their MLB team for ours in a heartbeat

Winston is like the Matt Schaub of right tackles. The sooner you realize he is better than average to good but not great, the more you'll like him and not expect too much. Guys like Cameron Wake in Miami will eat his lunch, as happened in week two ... but most of the time he's solid.

He might get an honorary pro bowl one of these years if we're really good but I don't think all-pro is going to happen.

How's Colt McCoy's shoulder doing these days?

I'm not saying it won't, but as the cliche goes, the NFL is a league of parity, and any team can win on any given Sunday.

I'm in the boat that is about winning, no matter how we do it. We're lucky enough that we finally have a team that can win even when the offense isn't great.

People, naturally, will try and find something to complain about. The Texans have burned the fans and the media so much that, if we don't blow teams out, people will refuse to jump on the bandwagon. That's fine by me, and I guarantee you, by the players also.

As Arian Foster said, "We're not here to fill up your fantasy football stat sheets, we're here to get wins." I think that is probably the quote of the year, as far as this team goes. It kind of defines what they seem to be about at the halfway point. We've tried to win in the past with a more finesse, showboat-like offense, and it didn't work. This year, our offense, while still good, has been gritty, and tough. Same thing with the defense. I'm loving it. We're suddenly one of the more physical teams in the league, on both sides of the ball, and that's what football is about. That's what this city will fall in love with.

According to Football Outsiders, the Texans rank 5th in ypc up the middle, whereas they rank 10th in ypc to the right side. While Winston is above average, Chris Meyers is playing lights out this season. If there was one lineman I had to pick to go to the Pro Bowl on the Texans offense, it would be him.

I'm not sure how this is gonna look, but if someone could help me out with the formatting, it would be much appreciated. :)

Oh, and just to add to that, the Texans have run the ball the most over the first 8 games (259 times), with 38% of those carries going up the middle.

And just to bring this back to the Browns, a whopping 60% of their runs have come up the middle, so Shaun Cody better be ready. However, I think Mother F***er Cushing will probably have a field day.

Winston is a very good-to-great run blocker and a below-average pass blocker. You're right that he struggles with good outsider rushers, but he probably gets downfield and blocks more safeties than any other tackle in the league. He's a player, like James Casey, that's worth more to the Texans than he would be to any other team.

There's no question to me, though. The All-Pros on the OL are Brown and Smith.

I wouldn't read too much into this, especially between the inside guys. The Texans pull so often on running plays that anyone could be blocking any position on any particular play.

Simply not true. Winston has had four penalties all year and one of them was declined.

In week 1 against Indy, Winston was called for a false start in the 3rd quarter. The game was already a blowout by then, so it didn't kill us.

In week 2 against Miami, Winston was called for holding in the first quarter. That penalty was declined, so it doesn't count. In the 3rd quarter, Winston was penalized for holding. The Texans won the game, so the penalty didn't kill us.

In week 6 against Baltimore, Winston was called for a false start in the 2nd quarter. The Texans lost the game by two scores, so you can't blame him for the loss.

To claim Winston has had a ton of penalties that have killed the Texans is a complete and utter lie.

True, but if I'm understanding it correctly, we still run behind Meyers quite a bit. I guess you're right though....if we aren't putting Meyers in front of Ngata, or somebody like that, he's more likely to succeed. But, I suppose that's the genius of the ZBS.

Will never forget how Kris Jenkins annihilated Meyers 3 yrs ago. Honestly, annihilated might be too soft a word describe the heinous act on a fellow human. Lol
