The reality is that there is serious talent now around the globe. The quality of some of these teams and leagues are high. In a perfect world, the NBA champion could matchup against the best European team in some sort of 5-7 game series. Or at least one serious game. That is the thing that kind of sucks about the more recent Olympics. It basically ends up being two defining questions.....
1st. Can our athletes shoot well to win the gold?
2nd. Can our athletic ability compensate for the lack of chemistry we have compared to many of our opponents?

We have better athletes and they have better fundamentals. This is purely opinion but in ways America might not be the best place to be a basketball player from the age of 14-17. You might get a great prep coach but if you are a 14 year old 7'5 monster in China then you have the country and their resources behind you. Or to cite Ricky Rubio as an example... I don't remember what age he went pro, but I think it was in that range and having an organization, league and country behind you is probably stronger most High Schools or Colleges in the US.

The idea that Lebron James or a Shaq in his prime would not dominate in ANY league is crazy.

well, it was on sunday, and was during the NFL season, so most people in the United States are watching NFL games.

I think a lot of people (me included) would watch NFL games even with NBA games on, even with big market teams like the lakers, heat, mavs, boston, etc.

look last year, a lot of people didnt go the rockets open practice because they wanted to watch texans vs cowboys in regular season.

so If the euroleague final, were on saturday, or on a sunday without NFL games, I guess people would have watch it.

i only watch the nba. why waste time watching scrubby leagues?

if those players were good they would be making bank in the nba. simple as that.

First of all, EuroBasket is not a league. Secondly, your theory is totally false and illogical since the players make more money playing in Euroleague than in the NBA. In most cases, A LOT more.

There is a Motiejunas update. ....................

His agent is apparently trying to get him into a Euroleague level club so that he can play in a much higher league than where he currently plays (Italian league/Eurocup). Supposedly the player, the agent, and the Rockets realize that he needs a lot of development and a lot of improvement and that he has to at least establish himself as a Euroleague level player, which he has not yet so far.

So they are trying to workout a move to the Polish Euroleague club Prokom. Prokom plays in the VTB League and the Euroleague. VTB League is a higher level league than the Italian League and Euroleague is a higher level league than the Eurocup.

So he would be playing at a higher level of European basketball than where he has been playing with a club like Treviso. Also, Prokom is basically somewhere between a small to mid level sized Euroleague club. They are not really a small level Euroleague club, but they are not really quite to mid level either.

Which is good and bad. The good part would be that on a team like Prokom he could probably get about 20 minutes a game of playing time. Perhaps more if he performed well. But the bad part of it is also that he most likely would not go any further than the Euroelague regular season stage, as it is doubtful that Prokom is good enough to advance out of their group. So it would be limited Euroleague experience (maybe 10 games).

But on the other hand, since Prokom also plays in VTB United League, there would be more games against good teams there. The Polish League and Cup games are not worth mentioning, as that is a low level by European standards.

according to your logic, shouldn't he start in the nba first, to become an nba level player, before playing in euroleague (the superior league) where he can make more money?

why donuts is doing it backward ?!?!?!?

You obviously have never in your life seen a Euroleague game.
