Sources: McHale to meet with Rockets owner By Adrian Wojnarowski The Rockets want their D-League affiliate coach, Chris Finch of Rio Grande Valley, to be part of the coaching staff. They see him as an eventual NBA head coach. http://http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AkBAqyan28x0.HZawCvv56q8vLYF?slug=aw-wojnarowski-kevin_mchale_houston_rockets_coach_owner052411
If Morey's able to pull the trigger on a deal for an elite player (or if one should miraculously arise from our current roster), I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the team buy out McHale's final two years and bring Finch in after a single year.
One thing that should be pointed out about Finch is how important the point guard is in his offensive system that he likes to implement. The D-League games are not really a good way to judge this because evaluating players is almost as important as any competition there. But if you watch his offensive system that he truly likes to utilize like with the British national team, then you can see how very important the point guard is to his offensive system. With the British national team, he has Nate Reinking to run the offense. Reinking is one of the smartest and steadiest point guards on the planet. He is just like having a head coach on the court. Lowry and Dragic are not even remotely close to Reinking in terms of basketball IQ and running an offense. So that offensive style that Finch likes to use would probably not be as successful with the type of point guards the Rockets have.
Indeed... I wonder the same of you my little strange foreign friend... I think you may be a Russian spy perhaps.
he doubled larry bird's and magic johnson score on the basketball SAT. lebron james only have GED in basketball.
It will be good to bump this thread when Reinking becomes an assistant coach with the Rockets under Finch.
And that should just about do it. Quite sure we'll have an interim coach and decide in the off season between Thibbs, Scottie Brooks, JVG, etc. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U8SSdyflGN4
