... at least very early in the off season, and not just before the start of next season. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2011-04-18-1894967820_x.htm Rockets' Scola undergoes minor knee surgery Posted 1h 7m ago | HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola has had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and is expected to recover in time for training camp. The 6-foot-9 Scola was Houston's leading rebounder at 8.2 per game and second-leading scorer at 18.3 points per game this past season. The Rockets finished 43-39 and missed the playoffs. Scola had surgery Friday. The team did not set a timetable for his return to basketball activities, but said Scola should be available for the start of training camp. Scola developed knee soreness in March and sat out eight games.
I don't mind if he's cleared. We're in for a long lockout, plus it will showcase him for a future trade.
Good points. IF he's 100% authorized physicians, he should be allowed to play. In case of the slightest doubt, he MUST rest. Anyway, I hope some guys who bashed him badly in several of the latest games, value how well he played despite being half recovered, in an ultimate effort to get into the playoffs.
Get well soon Scola. I want to see whether Ginobili is able to lead Team Argentina to get a ticket for 2012 Olympic without Scola, since Scola led his national team qualified twice without Ginobili.

Luis Scola undergoes arthroscopic knee surgery http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl...le.com+--+NBA+Basketball)&utm_content=Twitter Get well Luis.
Argentina can go undefeated without Scola very easily. FIBA Americas is really weak and they are playing at home. The only slight competition is Brazil and Puerto Rico and neither one can beat Argentina in Argentina, whether Scola plays or not.
Luis is demaciado macho-- he's probably already practicing. I hope not, though. Take some time, Luis! Then come back and lead us out of this mess!
Scola playing in the FIBA Americas is more important to him than playing for the Rockets. He might be getting paid by the Rockets during the season, but his status as a superstar down there is extremely important to him in regards to his overall status, endorsements internationally, etc. He makes his money now playing in the NBA, but he knows where the heart of his fanbase is, and will continue to be once he retires. No way Scola does not play in the summer tournament.
Here in Argentina the word is that his resting time will be over by the time Argentina NT starts training camp, but Argentina Coaching Staff will wait untill Houston Doctors clear him to play.
