In a vacuum .. on paper ...in a bubble...No crowd.. straight up basketball?

the rockets run away with the title.

Not a jinx because this is a no bullsh*it situation. A lab environment.

They call it a scrimmage but it's competitive with coaches' challenges and all.

    More than exhibition.

    This is so different.
    There is no external emotion.
Refs are not with crowd or situation.

    Just basketball.
As they start to play.. every single one of these guys defending harden starts to remember how good harden is. That is so deflating. No crowd to help lift them.

Then westbrook...The emotion component. westbrook is the on court emotion needed for this lab experiment. He is the crowd and his trash talking is invaluable. Think about it who is current mvp of trash talk or better than westbrook? Also happens to be one of the most athletic dudes ive ever seen..oh yeah he just had covid.

It would only be fitting rockets win this weird shi*t.

CF starts predicting Rockets greatness, and time and time again, the basketball gods slap the board back to reality

this thread is a bad omen like all the others that came before it

32% from 3 not winning many games. Problem was EGo played too many minutes and shooting too many 3's.

EGo and BMac were dogshit from distance tonight.

When both Russ and Harsen sit, this bench cannot win games. That requires playing Beard and/or Brodie all game.

Playoffs gonna feel like AAU games.

Only positive is maybe refs won’t be as influenced by the crowd.

agreed...without either 1 on the floor (especially Harden), we’re lunch meat

I expect the team will be putting up many bricks as the season continues like they normally do, so I’m looking at if they can manage to secure key defensive boards and not allow layup lines at the rim...it was just a scrimmage, but Toronto was at the rim for a layup time and time again...3>2, but that’s mainly if they’re shooting at least league average from deep

I read this in the game thread and it sounds plausible. Wonder if this makes player influence more important. Coaches, too.

What happens when the refs are given the familiar directive to extend a series?

On one hand, less crowd noise to pressure refs.

On the other, less noise for the refs not to ignore our players whining for fouls.

Anyone else feel like corner 3's are going to be easier to make? Looks so spacious in the corners now lol I bet the players prefer it.
