Keep in mind that the USPS is run by a Trump crony (who donated millions). Making the USPS fail by october would be a great thing for Trump and trying to win an election: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/07/14/postal-service-trump-dejoy-delay-mail/
I wouldn't put it beyond Trump and his cronies to actually mess up the USPS to benefit him politically.
I would love to hear about these undeniable successes. I’m having real trouble finding any. I really shouldn’t be surprised. Everything comes up roses when the good things are always because of you and the bad things are always someone else’s fault.
Again, I really think it's been worse this year. I know we debated this in the past, but I am not the only one who has commented on his emboldedness: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/16/us/politics/trump-goya-ivanka.html This was my biggest reason for opposing impeachment - that it would do nothing but give Trump more power.
Trump got a victory - a big one in Florida - basically the Supreme Court allowed a Florida law that disallows any convicted felon from voting until they pay their court fees (essentially a poll tax) which will disenfranchise a million people. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/07/supreme-court-florida-felons-poll-tax.html
You're completely distorting the law. Florida allows a felon who has completed his debt to society the right to vote. It does not give the right to every convicted felon. That debt could be punitive, restorative and/or retributive. If that dept is not fully paid, they do not get a right to vote. That said, if you feel they should be allowed to, then they should allow every citizen a right to vote regardless of crime. It has very little impact, but its the principle of the matter. Voting rights should not be used as a bargaining chip .
lol, the state doesn't even know how much these guy owe - so there is no way for them to ever pay back the state and enable their voting rights. I recommend reading the article.
What does this red herring have to do with anything? Completely different issue...one that does of course need to be addressed. It comes down to one of two decisions. Either all Americans have a right to vote or the State has a right to run their books.
That's not the issue at all. It was determined they had the right to vote, than the state came in and created a loophole by saying no, first you have to pay back all your court fines you incurred before you can vote. Of course, they don't even know how much they owe in court fines so it was just a tactic to deny them votes. If you think that's right, I don't know what else to say.
Just when you think he couldn't sound any dumber, he trumps himself. That's called a Trump trump. He loves the sound of his own drum.... trump trump trump trump Trump.
