6 feet and masks. Adults can't keep distance? It's one thing to argue kids can't. We have healthcare workers every damn with people with the virus

I agree and I'm not arguing that the two are equal. I'm saying that distance learning is better than nothing and continue to improve. There are also pluses involved as far as pracrice and familiarity with technology and evaluating the relativity and validity of online sources. Just think how much better this BBS would be if all of the members had those skills.

I don’t disagree about it being unsafe. I made that point above.

Overall, I’m basically saying that we need in person school, we need to lock it down in order for that to happen in order to open safely, but I have serious doubts that republican leaders give one crap about opening safely.

I get that remote learning might be necessary because of the lousy situation we are in and teachers are doing the best they can, and then some.

Are these kids going to keep the masks on? Who will enforce it? The adults.

I don't think you understand that I'm not arguing for opening campuses.

Students who don't read over the summer start further regressed in their education than those that do read. That is just self - initiated distance learning. So a little will definitely be better than none.

yeah, I don’t mean to diminish the improvements and it’s likely the best we can do. I don’t expect that in person class will last very long into the fall.

    That doesn’t make any sense.

They tested 2400+ students and teachers and found only 12 to have the antibody. Meaning out of ALL of those people, those 12 were the only ones that got the virus at any point.

Does COVID just stay away from schools or what? I mean, that is TERRIFIC news if true but I can’t wrap my head around how that would even be possible.

Fort bend ISD announced remote learning to start the year. Unfortunately, this is probably the best public schools can do unless or until Abbott shuts things down and gets this under control.

And your analogy is idiotic. Health care workers have PPE. Are we going to provide that to teachers?

School is a very controlled environment. It ain't **** to make kids where masks not crowd the hallway and stay 6 feet apart. We know what works and that it can work

A lot of studies have supported that elementary school kids are not very susceptible to contracting COVID-19 or even spreading it. I haven't read any reasons why, but it's good evidence for opening elementary schools at least.
