Politico's article about the rise in COVID cases in California: https://www.politico.com/states/cal...del-student-to-pandemic-problem-child-1296494 Democratic states are also eager to re-open and they, too, can suffer consequences since virus doesn't care about what party your governor belongs to. I can only hope that, in closing things back down upon evidence of the rise in cases, Newsom is at least showing that he's willing to follow the evidence when it shows up.
Yes, it's a hard truth that the cases here have risen like crazy. Hopefully, everyone will take it more seriously this time. I will say my inlaws are having a rough time with it. They stayed in and never left initially. Recently, they've been able to go to the store once every week or two. Now, that they are told to stay in again, they are super upset about it. My mother in law is claiming that she won't do it. It's odd because they get angry when they see news stories about people gathering and not following the guidelines, but now she doesn't want to follow them. We have a few days before the next store trip. So hopefully they will see reason.
Plans were 6,000 indoor at the George R. Brown Convention Center. That may have to change. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/06/27/texas-republican-party-convention-coronavirus-houston/ https://www.texastribune.org/2020/06/30/texas-gop-republican-convention/
yesterday was the lowest US daily deaths on a Wednesday since March. (so sorry to post facts - hopefully nobody is triggered)
This struck me -> Allow local officials to restrict outdoor to less than 100 but not indoor.... while data said it spread much more readily indoor. At this rate, they probably are going to have to cancel such large indoor in person gathering.
trump campaign is a mobile superspreader... The Coronavirus Spread In A Dallas Megachurch’s Choir And Orchestra. Then It Hosted Mike Pence. A group of First Baptist Dallas choir and orchestra members contracted COVID-19 in the lead-up to Vice President Mike Pence’s visit on Sunday. An infectious disease expert called it “appalling.” https://www.buzzfeednews.com/articl...coronavirus?bftwnews&utm_term=4ldqpgc#4ldqpgc
why in the hell did they meet in person? I’m super worried about the school year at this point, and I know we desperately need a school year, just for the daycare alone.
So 3 times more than the day before when you said only 2. What baffles me is that deaths is all you seemed concerned with. Hospitalizations have to be concerning. Nobody wants to go through that alone. Many have terrible psychotic delusions and further complications while recovering.
A friend of mine works for a large company. His department wanted to have an in-person lunch to reconnect since they've been apart all this time. He was the only person on this fairly large team that didn't attend, because this was obviously a terrible idea. ~3 days later, one of the attendees has symptoms and is getting tested. If this person is positive, their entire department will have to quarantine and get tested. And this is a group of people who are "essential" and 100% should know better. People are weird.
