Because of course he does. So instead of bringing people together he divides people further. Got appeal to his ever shrinking base. SMH

I love how Trump's "4D Chess" strategy is to continue doubling down on the culture war BS because he has nothing else. Let's see how many of the "critical thinkers" continue to eat it up in November.

Trump supporters love to claim they’re “real Americans”....love to yell out “Make America Great Again” and all that other nonsense

they are also the same people who will waive the Confederate flag, the flag of traitors, with pride

they celebrate traitors to America...they tell people to go back to their own country even tho America is supposed to be a nation of immigrants

they don’t care about American values...they don’t care about dignity and respect...hell, we have a braindead Trump supporter arguing for segregation on here...that is who these people are

    DEPLORABLES

    Keep scrubbing that history y'all!

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

“Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.

“Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”

“How could you make appeal to the future when not a trace of you, not even an anonymous word scribbled on a piece of paper, could physically survive?”

“But it was alright, everything was alright, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.”

Tear gas protestors for violating curfew half an hour early and got in the way of your tourist shot.

Venerate war criminals who violently rebelled and are an ongoing symbol of rebellion and bloody civil war.

Someone sure likes both sides. One side more than the other...

    You're late by years.

No one wants that **** in public places nor inside institutions of power.

If you want to learn history, keep them inside museums where they belong.

Otherwise you're supporting symbols racists use as a security blanket for their Power or Privilege.

Fort Hood was named in the 1940s for a Texan Confederate general. I tried to read about how they chose that name, but not finding anything. I know about how Southerners in the first half of the 20th century would name things after Confederates to poke the federal government (and black people) in the eye. But, naming Fort Hood was a federal decision. I think it's a bit bizarre how federal agencies could pick Confederate names for their installations in the first place.

    Legit question, @AroundTheWorld @Yung-T @KingCheetah

Does Germany have statues of Nazi leaders in publc (not museum), multiple streets, buildings, tows etc named directly after any of them?

Have there been any complaints of taking away people's heritage, history and freedom that has been taken seriously in the national discussion?

You can bet that the naming was spearheaded by Texans who were elected to federal govt probably a Senator.

I don't think it's that bizarre once you think about it.

Also most of these Confederate Generals fought for the U.S. at one time which kind of gives them cover I guess.

Why are you asking KingCheetah...don't think he's German? :) But he gave the right answer. That said, there are still some statues from Germany's colonial history and some stuff like that.

Just further evidence that Trump is actually an idiot. Maybe worst time in his presidency to remind people he actually just wants to be president of the Confederacy.

Even Steve King couldn’t win his primary in his red neck district with the Confederate strategy. Seriously this guy could not be any dumber but the scary part is he might still win in November because of the electoral college, voter suppression, foreign intervention, and a war chest of propaganda to flood the airways.

Do you find it odd that US military bases are named after commanders that attempted to destroy the US.

I am not for scrubbing history. Lee and Jackson and others are important figures in US history. However I can see someone saying that US military bases should not be named after men trying to break the United States.

Curious how the partisan alignment will go for this bipartisan discussion...

I don't think his propaganda is very effective anymore but I agree he has everything else going for him.

This thing in Georgia has been a huge eye opener.
