Getting rid of guns on Looney Tunes won't curb gun violence.

Also, I have never seen a kid fall off a cliff chasing someone . we weren't that dumb when were kids, they just assume kids now are dumb as rocks

I think what would help reduce gun violence isn't creating a lack of knowledge about guns or creating a hidden mystique to them.

My daughter and I were talking about this last night....

    This is just crazy....

I have GunS.. yes with an "S" and my kids were raised around guns and I was raised around guns... What happened to parents actually teaching their kids and being their parents instead of letting them raise their self and trying to be their friend...

Well Hollywood thinks Parent are idiots.

    https://deadline.com/2020/06/looney-tunes-bans-elmer-fudd-from-having-a-gun-1202952861/

In response to US gun violence, the showrunners will not include firearms in Fudd’s arsenal. That is not to say that he has given up hunting Bugs Bunny, though – he just uses a scythe instead.

“We’re not doing guns,” said Peter Browngardt, executive producers of the series, in an interview with the New York Times. “But we can do cartoony violence – TNT, the Acme stuff.”

Browngardt added that the cartoons will stay true to the originals. “I always thought, ‘What if Warner Bros had never stopped making Looney Tunes cartoons? As much as we possibly could, we treated the production in that way.”

The modern versions will reflect modern sensibilities, he said.

“We’re going through this wave of anti-bullying, ‘everyone needs to be friends’, ‘everyone needs to get along’. Looney Tunes is pretty much the antithesis of that. It’s two characters in conflict, sometimes getting pretty violent.”

The old show still exists. You don't have to watch the new stuff.... what is all the crying about?

I'm pretty sure the target audience of children will not know the difference, and thus will not care. Why does anyone care? Are people afraid that the looney tunes animators are going to come erase their guns?

I promise you, the kids won't care one way or the other. If adults want nostalgia, they should probably go watch the classic cartoons from the forties and fifties.

People often apply too much significance to their nostalgia. Any of you read the lil abner comics your grandparents grew up on? Just because it is special for you doesn't mean it is actually objectively special.

One of my favorite things for my 3-year-old to do right now is grab a stick and fake shoot at me. I think he saw me playing RD2 and started imitating it.

He screams BAM BAM BAM BAM as he chases me around, I'll fall over and pretend like he got me. He just thinks it's the funniest thing and has so much fun with it.

If he grows up to be a mass murdered I'll bump this thread.
