Sorry. If I get Covid, I’ll ask the doctors why on treatment, but I’ll put my trust into their knowledge and judgement. It’s not that hard. I take enough crap now to where I’m not so eager myself to add another chemical to my bloodstream. It’s a safer preventative to just eat healthier, lose some weight, get more exercise, and get more sleep (that last one has shown much more evidence in studies than Hydroxychloquine has to prevent Covid). Oh and wearing a mask seems a hell of a lot less risky than taking hydroxychloroquine. If the virus enters your body through your nose/mouth to the lungs well captain obvious says blocking entry makes some sense.
They are getting tested every day, so Trump feels safer projecting masks do no good. Taking the "drug" for no reason other than being petrified of getting it tells another story. When he pompously walks into a factory or media event without a mask I think everyone around him should remove their masks and go up to him and give him a big group hug. He would freak out.

What Trumps wants to do is spend the remainder of the year campaigning. But campaigning is definitionally high risk. Rallies in closed air stadiums/halls with thousands attending, no social distancing, breathing recycled air, pressing fresh before and after the rallies. Even though the Criminal in Chief is not a very smart man, he is smart enough to know that he is a high risk individual (fat, old AF, likely other comorbidities). I suspect that he thinks that taking hydroxychloroquine preventively (though no science has suggested that) will allow him to campaign without catching CV. The other schmucks attending the rally? Exactly. I think it says everything right there about him, and what he's really thinking. The guy is full of fear, and paranoia. Even though there isn't a person who comes within miles of him without being tested, he still is freaked out enough to risk his health by taking a drug that he should know could kill him with a heart attack since he is old and obese. This is a guy who is a very very scared individual whose need to project strength has a polar opposite reality of his insecurity & weakness as a person.
I think more than politics it was about money and the stock market. They had to hide the truth so Trumps billionaire friends like Tillman Fertitta could have enough warning and time to shift their investments to prepare for the hit, and hold onto their money. I think Richard Burr, and Kelly Loeffler are the only people we are hearing about because they are sitting public officials, but in those weeks I guarantee you every single billionaire buddy or donor to Trump had several weeks of warnings to get their portfolios in order before the markets tanked for those couple weeks. That is more of the reality here than "politics" IMO. If Biden wins, I would hope that there is a massive insider trading probe the AG can open to investigate what these people did to make millions off of a tragedy. This is basically the entire plotline of Casino Royale.
