We'll never know, but I'd love to see what Tunsil's initial ask was. I can imagine it was too much more than this.

I'm not a big football guy, but I wonder if we were able to leverage his absurd amount of offsides penalties in the negotiations. Doesn't seem like it if we are making him the highest paid OL. Is he actually *that* good? Best OL in league?

I guess the Rams were SMART to trade for Ramsey without an extension?

For cap purposes. If you do it as a Bonus, you can spread it out over the length of the deal.

Yes, it’s what smart players when they have all the leverage. You missed my point. LT had the Texans bent over a barrel and that’s why he got such a sweet deal.

He got the deal he was always going to get. I guess the Rams were dumb to trade for Ramsey without an extension? If you have a chance to get a top 5 player at their position, that is 24-25 years old, with 2 years left of his contract....you do it.

I was thinking the same thing. VERY EXPENSIVE. He better ELIMINATE those silly false starts and become a Hall of Famer for those kind of resources.

Damn that’s a lot of money, but the Texans literally had no choice. He had them by the balls and he knew it. Good to have him locked up though.

Negotiated without the use of an agent...this guy negotiated himself $50M guaranteed along with room to get one more contract before he turns 30. BoB outmaneuvered again (even though he had no leverage, but still)

I'm sorry, but Tunsil is not that good. I made sure to watch him specifically in the games after he was traded to Houston.

    He made plenty of mistakes.

He's still certainly above-average starting tackle. But nowhere near the best OL in the entire league. If Tunsil truly would not sign for anything less than being the highest-paid, I would get rid of him if I were the Texans. (They shouldn't have given up what they did in the trade in the first place.)

Is what it is. We get Tunsil for 4 seasons that averages out to $19 mil per year.

My thoughts exactly. Tunsil will want $30m per in 3 years.

No, including this season 2020 (~$10 mil) then 2021-2023 ($23mil per year).
