Trump might be a President for a short period of time.........but he still managed doing appalling damage to his country from the democratic foundation to thousands of real lives before our eyes .. that's a scary track record. Since USA already had Trump and war criminals as presidents....... horrendous things happened and they will happen again and again. It had cost millions of lives and will cost more. USA is definitely not qualified as world leader any more especially if you use your same standard you had said on China.

IIRC, the China and later European “travel bans” exempted US citizens and permanent residents and took a couple days to activate. Given that a virus doesn’t check passports and green cards or observe any artificial deadlines, the administration should have prepare for the likelihood that there would be cases coming into the US despite their ban. And yet Trump did nothing to prepare.
This is pretty close but I don't blame the WHO that much. The PRC and particularly Wuhan authorities downplayed it and silenced whistleblowers. The PRC acted late but when they did they took very forceful action. By then though the disease was already international. As an aside it might've already been out before then. In December before this was named I was hearing in Hong Kong about a "Wuhan Virus" and Thailand was reporting that they were seeing cases of a mysterious new disease. The WHO did follow the information from the PRC but as stated the WHO is very dependent on member countries. They don't have a military or economy that compel countries to cooperate. They don't have an intelligence service. They probably should've been more skeptical of the PRC but I'm not sure where else they could've gotten more information. In Trump's case the US does have an intelligence service and other sources of information that the WHO doesn't have. Trump was praising what the Xi regime was doing in January.

Ya that's the large difference here. Obama doesn't have the hubris or at the very least has enough self-awareness to not name a piece of legislation after him.
It started that way but from what I recall during a debate in 2012 Obama said he liked it and after that it started to get used by both sides of the political aisles and in the media.
