Iceland has identified 40 mutations and like 4 different "strains" (italian, english, austrian, spanish) but can't extrapolate like what the Chinese did if it causes any different mortality/contagiousness or if any strain is similar to the L or S. (It most likely is NOT considering that Austria and Italy who share land borders have different "strains").

Then there was a mention by many italians group that said" the italian strain came straight from Wuhan to northern Italy much earlier than we believed beause it is different than other strains in China". They based this on the mutations and were even able to give a date on the time of arrival.

I would assume to an extent, but I'm guessing you'd be dealing with some permanent fibrosis.

I tried to get a refill last week and my pharmacist told me currently it's on back order until April 28th. She told me that that she expects that it will get delayed again when April 28th rolls around. She gave me a couple of other pharmacies to try and they were out too.

She basically told me last week "if you can still find it, buy it while you still can." She did indicate If she gets some, she's going to give it to people who had prescriptions of it before COVID.

I had to go to Corpus Christi for work which until recently was the largest city in the US without a case and found a pharmacy that would give me an extra 30 day supply, which was essentially everything they had left.

I'm pretty sure you could literally call every pharmacy in the greater Houston area, and nobody would have any. Thankfully, there are other options for autoimmune issues, like methotrexate (cancer drug), but I believe they have much nastier side effects.

Sister in law who's in the Navy on a base in San Antonio told us there are 12+ cases on the base through communal spread, said the whole facility is locked down now.

This would be funny if people were not dying from the mass infections. When you hear Trump talking packed churches in 17 or so days, giving everything we know so far, one must make the conclusion that Trump is either an idiot or an irresponsible lunatic or both. This guy will get a lot of people killed by the time a vaccine is approved.

Are you talking about mutations? I heard a couple of Hopkins scientists that are working on a vaccine that there have been 7 mutations, but fortunately, the virus has really been stable, for the most part.

it’s such a foolish idea...it’s no wonder many still don’t take this virus seriously

A few days ago I had an invite to come and hoop with at least 7 or 8 other people. I’m sitting in my house thinking that they can’t be serious.

The good thing is that usually there are some stable areas (that are not prone to mutation) and most vaccines will be made based on this, so it can be effective on all strains or as many as possible.

There are 40 vaccines researched right now. Gotta believe that something will be able to work out of all of these.

There is no question in my mind that scientists will develop a vaccine that will be effective. That's a lot of firepower thrown at one disease. Don't be surprised if a COVID-19 vaccine is something we will all be advised to get on a yearly basis, just like the flu.

Right now, it's a race against time.

Got a sauce at Ft Hood and it sounds like it's catching there. And they have like 200 tests for the 40k there. Not good. There's more deets but I cannot divulge. Again, not good.

I think it will be interesting how the vaccine is handled and distributed.

The big question, do they attempt to force the vaccine with fines and arrest? Will this pandemic change the laws on vaccines being voluntary?

Fort Hood is shut down, "essential staffing" they say. We'll see how that works with keeping everyone on base.

It's a ******* disaster, they're going to spread it all over Central Texas, same with the city people who are coming up here to "get away from..."
