I thought I had made myself quite clear - Anyone but Trump - other than Bernie. Klobuchar , Biden , Buttigieg , Warren , Bloomberg > Trump > Bernie.
Get Warren and Bloomberg out of the race. Time to to start prepping and help energize people for Biden. It's a tough call. But it's the best strategy at this point. Biden is not who I wanted but it's time to move forward.
Do you think they don't realize that they get to help foot the bill for all those freebies ? Or you think they are naive enough to believe the total BS that billionaires are going to pay for it all ? I give you credit for one thing - you seem to genuinely believe in the ideas you are pushing .... that they are good for everyone / the nation as a whole (and they probably are , particularly education). You just refuse to accept the math as untenable or that people don't trust the government to do the right thing. Here's an interesting fact on healthcare costs - We spent $ 3.24 trillion in 2019 on healthcare premiums. Bernie's proposal is ~$4trillion a year. Wait a minute here - I thought the idea was to reduce costs .....
And the solution is to get rid of the booms, and just rack up the debt at a much higher rate? What makes you think booms and busts affect the middle to lower class more? Those cycles have the biggest impact on stocks. So your argument seems counter, unless you believe most wealth resides with the poor and middle class? That would be major news to the Bernie camp.
If you look at the money spent ... biden - 25 cents per delegate Bernie - $5 per delegate Bloomb - $100m per delegate disclaimer: those aren’t real numbers, but you get the idea
Obama will bring out those black voters in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. They will come out for Biden, they stayed home for Hillary.
What is the black support for Warren? I think that message just doesn't resonate with them. Interesting, in that it is geared for the working class, where many blacks find themselves. Are blacks more concerned about the socialist/communist leanings? I don't think its a media created narrative...although I'm sure they help perpetuate it. Unless there is some actual data that indicates blacks actually support him in 'normal' amounts?
No candidate in recent history has been able to get largest population block to vote. There are many reasons why period.
Energize and Biden in the same sentence lol. When all your energy comes how bad the other guy is, not what you can bring. Great campaign slogan, "vote me, I'm not trump!"
Elections have consequences. People not going out to vote for the Democrat candidate in 2016 resulted in trump as a consequence. You have the right to vote, or not vote. My feeling is that as a citizen of the United States, I enjoy the right to vote and see it my duty to use that right. Others fought so I can enjoy that right. And as someone that has almost always lived in areas where there were few candidates in my party and even fewer that had realistic chances to win, I still voted. First, I felt it my duty to do so. And second, I feel I surrender any reason to complain about who wins if I don't vote. The D&D is largely anonymous, and I don't really know if you are a Democrat or republican, a Sanders supporter or a trump supporter. We already know what not voting for the Democrat candidate resulted in. We already know what trump is and will likely do in a second term. We also know there is a really big difference between that and what ANY Democrat President will act, say and do. If you really want four more years of trump, say that and vote for trump. If you don't, vote for whoever wins the Democratic primary. It really is that straight forward of a decision. And if the Democratic candidate wins, then push for the causes or people you want.
Which is why I didn't like him as the nominee. But that is past. It isn't helpful to dwell on that. He has actually energized some blue collar workers and older African Americans. He had been loyal and worked for issues important to those voters. It would be more helpful to build off of that and prepare tactics for running against Donald. As much as we feared the lack of excitement around Biden, that ship has sailed and that argument isn't relevant anymore. Other candidates couldn't get the Delegates to beat him. So either you can be bitter about it and do nothing constructive or you can choose to move forward.
It seems to me that Biden’s biggest challenge is to mobilize young voters in a general election. For the rest of the electorate, isn’t the absolute hate of Donald trump enough to get a massive turnout? For the large anti trump crowd, you could most nominate a chair, and there would be large turnout to get trump out of office. In debates, doesn’t Biden just have to keep his cool, calmly focus on the themes of ousting the morally corrupt orange man in the Oval Office? For every trump barb about a Biden Gaffe, doesnt Biden just need to look over at trump and say, yeah I’m not a perfect speaker, but I’m not a miserable human being and I feel sorry for you? Biden is capable of building a coalition of support in the key swing states, and I think that’s LL that matters. Either people are super tired of trump, or they are not. All you have To do is give them a half way decent candidate, and we will find out.
I am sure he understands that. Why would you question this longtime posters intelligence? Go back to retweeting.
