BMac is a 3ball specialist but his defense is below par. Rockets need anyone not named Beard or Brodie to be excellent at 3-D. 6'3 McLemore to often a liability on defense.
Here is the ugly truth --- the Rockets are not good enough to coast to a win! When we play with effort on both sides of the ball with stifling defense, we are real good, elite indeed. Otherwise, it's mediocre BB resulting in mediocre results. The Rockets took the Knicks for granted and it will cost them down the road.
If Thabo and Carroll - let alone Tyson or Bruno - cannot get minutes in a game like this, MDA will never learn and he needs to go.
We should have taken a flyer on Troy Daniels and had him spot up for the last second corner 3 instead of a blunderous Westbrook drive/brick.
the game on Mar 26th is a must-win, what's more, we gotta play a-tooth-for-a-tooth D, lock up Brick Freak. whenever you label someone like Giannis 'unskilled', you are for real, cuz all eyes on you, and you gotta realize losing to the shitty bottom team need a reflection. ppl have your word.
Green showed his true colors tonite though, he can give you 20 pts once in 15 games though. Carroll can't even score, but he defends.
Tuned in and out most of the game but yet again it comes down to the Rockets have basically one weapon they heavily rely on and that is the shot. Live and die by it. Harden continues to try and shoot himself out of slumps... take a page out of WB and drive man...
Haven't watched much of the game but from the stats Harden had 16-16 Free Throws, most out of anybody from the game...... He still drives but he mixes it up with tons of shots. That is his game now, he reduced his floaters, he reduced his fade aways, he abandoned his midrange game. Just step back 3s.
In most recent 2 decades, only two championship teams humiliated their opps in games by coating n got it tighten up whenever they wanted: Kobe n Shaq LAL Splash Brothers GSW Dunkan-Parker-Gino's SAS could do that, However due to pop's big stick, that's not allowed. I adore pop's discipline that give no sh*t to any (star players) privilege.
I know we would win more games with small ball than with Capela but the Capela team was already winning at a decent clip (5th to 6th seed). We play more attractively, that is for sure, but the sample size is too small to say we should dominate other teams. Rebounding and fouling is still a big issue.
Its butt hurting whenever giving no respect to opps, definitely a taboo. Not mentioned we're still a WIP like what you put it 'small sample size'. smh
He still has issues outside of post defense. He's good at swatting at balls but he still has issues on the perimeter moving his feet sometimes. Definitely better than 2016. He probably just didn't exert as much energy because it was the Knicks.
He's having issues driving by long athletic defenders recently. I think Harden needs to run some actual pick and rolls to help him get into the paint and playmake with the roll man. He doesn't do that much anymore.
Why does this team not run anymore pick and rolls with Harden? He now just uses picks to get switches and never attacks with a roll man anymore. The Rockets would get easier buckets that way if they changed it up sometimes.
