gordon took a contested 30 footer early in the shot clock w/ 4:40 left in the game and his team down 5. his shot selection, his brain.. is devoid of logic and pringles is the laziest head coach in the league. this fuking guy sat his ass the entire game, even the rockets broadcasters mentioned it. no sense of urgency to stop losing to crap teams. thoroughly outcoached w/ lack of adjustments all the way through and mismanagement of possessions down the stretch. again, we are never winning a title w/ him as head coach. both these guys need to be replaced in the offseason
Duncan Robinson is definitely comparable to Dwight. Bro, I would love it if they did post ups from Dwight, and AD the whole game. Also the Knicks were the number one offensive rebounding team coming into tonight. We lost the rebounding battle by a whole lot and still only lost by 2. We will be okay. Harden and Westbrook play better and this isnt even a discussion. Their two bigs will get played off the floor.
Rebounding is a noted weakness of the smallball lineup, but usually with hustle and effort we can get more than enough to beat most teams, especially if the shots are falling. Tonight there was no hustle, and the defense wasn't very intense. Because of that, our weaknesses were magnified. I'm not worried about the smallball lineup against anyone but there has to be a baseline level of desire or else we'll have a much tougher time than necessary. TLDR; If the Rockets played 4th quarter intensity for just the second half, we probably would've won by 10+...but we didn't, so we lost against the most hilarious franchise in the sports. F*ck me sideways
Turnovers were bad but he wasn't shooting the ball poorly. 47% from the field isn't atrocious. And he had the most life injecting play of the game when that dunk. I thought that dunk was going to carry the Rockets through.
Agree that Russ, Harden and PJ were off tonight. So was MDA with that last play called and not playing fresh legs in DMC and Thabo. But we will learn from this loss and become better. I still believe. 1 loss will not derail our chance for 2nd seed. Need to focus on LAC now.
9-19 isn't terrible. Turnovers were a result of the packing the paint and us not making outside shots in the first half to stretch them out. It was too congested
He thinks his shooting performance prior to that situation is relevant. It isn't. Bogdanovic was shooting 1/4 from the 3pt line before he hit that heavily contested buzzer beater for the Jazz. Any decent shooter can make a 3pt at the right time. We literally have the only coach in the NBA who would go for a 2pt there when every other coach would have went for the win.
Harden had a a more efficient shooting night than he did though. And he scored way more points. At the end of the day, one play is not what makes a basketball game. I dont undesrstand why its so hard to say both had a bad game when a lot of you are so ready to crap on Harden.
You can’t get out rebounded by 31 and expect a win, I will say our 4th quarter D was on point but as we all know the defensive possession doesn’t end until you secure the board.
Harden was still more efficient and had more points(he got a lot off the line). Turnovers are turnovers dude, he made some reckless plays.
Because Harden wasted a lot more possessions with a lot more bricks. He also missed two easy lay ups in the 4th. Westbrook injects some hustle into this team.
Tucker was also ass. We really need a small ball 5 that can actually rebound and take more than 1 three in a game. Your starting 5 can't put up 0 points and just 5 rebounds in 34 minutes. He was clowned on the boards and couldn't even grab rebounds off of missed free throws.
It was a bad call on D'Antoni part, and I am HUGE MDA supporter. (Extend him now Rilly/Morey!!!!). And our players were listless most of game. However, the team will adjust - MDA and the players will learn from this and use this to improve.
Rebounding was awful all night. We didn't box them out at all well. But our 4th quarter was pretty decent..... but we were chasing the game all night. You can't keep expecting to win games when you're chasing games.
