There's nothing I hate more than this garbage. So many sports know-it-alls LOVE to build up their ego by saying they are "always right" because they make predictions that have a 95% chance of happening. Nobody would be impressed if you predicted that it would be hot in the summer in Houston. For some reason this is only acceptable in sports. Here, let me try

Jokic doesn't play winning basketball because he's too passive
Donovan Mitchell is overrated, the Jazz can't win with him
The Celtics don't have a true alpha, they're just another version of the 60 win Hawks, you can cross them off now
Sixers will never win with Embiid and Simmons together
Raptors win streak is fools gold, Siakam is overrated and won't produce when they need him
Jimmy Butler is a locker room cancer, he will tear that team apart in the playoffs

Damn I can't wait to come back to this post at the end of the season and see how smart I am about basketball.

I was undecided when the trade happened so I didn't vote... I just voted and it's currently 50/50

I still don’t like that Tilman randomly threw in a first rounder solely to shed money.

I’d say most people liked the Covington for Capela swap in a vacuum.

I didn't like it because I didn't like losing the first round draft pick. I thought Clint was worth more than that, but I sure do like it now. It was going to be a low pick anyway. Worst than a good second round pick since it was guaranteed money.

Some forgot how good Rivers was when he first played, then the next season was more meh.

Roco is better fit than him but some players do not play their best the second season.

Rivers was just on a hot streak when he got here. We knew his shooting would come down to earth.

Yeah, somehow he shot 40+% from 3 in the Playoffs.

Defensive instincts and effort are sustainable whereas hot shooting is not. RoCo's defense is his calling card and is what he's been known for so there is no reason to think that he won't continue to excel on that end of the floor. He wasn't a 1st team NBA defensive player for no reason. This isn't a case like Corey Brewer showing up and suddenly learning how to shoot 3 pointers. We saw that didn't last very long because that just isn't the kind of player he was. Robert Covington is an elite wing defender and was that before we traded for him.

The blocks are significantly up, but his steals are significantly down. He will continue to impact the game on that end no doubt considering he's typically a 2 steals per game and 1 block guy historically instead of a 2 blocks and 1 steal player. That said, our defensive system is much different from anything else he has ever played in before and allows him to roam on switches like a ball-hawking free safety like Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu. We don't really know what that means for him just yet when considering what is and isn't sustainable with his timing, above-average anticipation, and elite wingspan in a switch everything defense that often draws him to the basket to rim protect.

I'm keeping my no vote. It's a badge of shame and I deserve it. Put it on my permanent record.

Guilty here as well, except I was mainly pissed we threw in a first rounder, plus I wasn't sold small ball could really work tbh. seeing as it was a low first rounder and guaranteed money, its not looking like it was all that bad a deal now...
