We most definitely do want someone better than Trump. Fortunately, every single Democratic candidate fits that description even if they promise things they can't deliver. Doing bad things that Trump does in one particular area doesn't make any of them as bad as Trump.
Oh I know we disagree. I have said before that if you don't support Trump you post like someone who does.
So Bernie is now a Democrat version of Trump? Wow. A public servant who has been a mayor, congressman and senator for 40 years is now the same thing as a deranged, narcissistic, wannabe billionaire. In response to the CNN video, Zakaria criticizes aspects of Bernie's climate change policy (some that I agree with, some that I disagree) as if it were a law that would actually be passed. In the past, CNN and many other outlets have characterized most of Bernie's plans as things that would never be passed by Congress. So which is it? (As a side note, at least a major news network is actually talking about what a rapid climate change mobilization would at least look like, so the plan in some sense has already done some good just by discussing the issue, maybe good-faith critics will respond with valuable insight.). The reality is, most well-read Sanders supporters understand that the policies Bernie's campaign is running on are simply the starting point for negotiations and discussions that will have to take place in Congress. The broader base more or less doesn't have the time (or patience) to understand all the finer details of each plan, they are simply voting for Sanders in support of "large structural change" based on the values of "economic, racial, environmental, and social justice". The main takeaway from Bernie's campaign plans is the overall ambition, intention, and intensity by which the Sanders Administration intends to govern. The plans also serve to build the necessary political will/support by energizing voters. The reality is the US legislative process is a hulking, massive ship that can barely turn a few degrees at a time, so unless you come at it with a full-scale frontal assault the likelihood of anything happening is very slim. With climate change discussions we can expect congressmen, environmentalists, economists, and policy advisors to debate the finer details. The fallout from the negotiations will either lead to a reasonable compromise bill or (hopefully) public backlash due to failed legislation attempts. If it fails, then there will have to be activist/protest efforts to pressure Congress into passing something meaningful to tackle an issue.
I'm just going by what Bloomberg tells me: https://www.nydailynews.com/news/po...0200217-miqbzgtotbec7cpg2gxcxtlcia-story.html
EVEN !! lol CNN ! Os, your consent has been manufactured. ala Chomsky It is a great game. Have the mainstream media be near fascist (Fox) through corporate CNN and MSNBC billionaire owned read by millionaires playing moderate to progressive. Anything more liberal or even social democratic is considered beyond the pale and conspiratorial.
Yep and the contented and gullible going to be contented and gullible. Or blaming Russkies, immigrants, their neighbors for staying on unemployment insurance or worker's comp a couple weeks extra, or drinking Big Gulps or whatever.
Please explain exactly why America can't have these things. Are we too poor? No way! Are we too ****ed up as a as a country? If you argue "yes" Is this a permanent position? Explain why
What statements in the video do you disagree with? Just because the information comes from a biased source Trump does not follow any tradition rules of politics. But why let the damage he's done persist? Why not hold our leaders to a higher standard? Why reward candidates that use Trump's tricks?
https://lawandcrime.com/2020-electi...c-group-due-to-doctored-bernie-sanders-video/ Can someone help me find the CNN or MSNBC article for this? I figured it's more relevant than an angry tweet by a 'Bernie bro' rando anonymous account so of course CNN and MSNBC not being biased against Bernie as so many posters here are so confident in said claim would obviously publish an article about this. I mean... Obviously they would right?
It is because of the way that Congress is established and moving forward in large groundbreaking leaps isn't possible. Sanders has had ideas that I love for a long time. He hasn't been able to get them through congress as a Senator, I don't think it would change with him as President. The only way it would be possible would be if there was a huge groundswell of popular support. I don't believe the populace is that involved in politics ever and certainly not when there isn't a presidential campaign. One of the things I like about Sanders's ideas is that there is a lot of room for compromise and still end up with improvements.
I like the idea of holding them accountable. Sanders isn't my choice for the primary. But in the general election, we've seen that the ship has sailed. People wanted Trump to shake up the system and this is one of the shake-ups he's done. As I've said before Trump is far more radical, socialist, and extreme than Sanders Warren, or anyone else in the Democratic party. AOC might be equal to him but that's arguable.
It was two people fighting. The first time ever in a Bernie rally. He never advocates for violence so there is nothing to clean up. He always preached civility in discourse.
