That's the first step in moving past any scandal, unless your organization is filled with children. Which seems to be the case.

He couldn't even admit the system gave their hitters and advantage.

Ban the Astros from postseason play for a decade

Yea because that'll end it all right? The media, the other fans, politicians, night time talk show hosts, everyone will say "oh, ok, lets move on, that was so sincere"

And what distinct advantage did they have? Not only were Boston and Yankees fined that year for electronic sign stealing, the Dodgers have been accused by multiple organizations as well. Did they cheat? Yes. Was it within the scope of what’s going on in the league? Yes.
They should show remorse if the league admits that it’s a league wide issue and then the league should show remorse. Until then, it’s a part of the game. Has been for years.

Not to mention, what they did technically wasn’t illegal in 2017.

No one is moving past it until that happens.

You don't get to cheat your way to a world series and then when you're caught just say, "Oh well. Time to move on. We'll rally together."

    That's not how morality works.

Springer: That's the first time we've all been together since the season ended. It was a good meeting, productive meeting. Amount of remorse, regret obvious to us in this room...there's no real way to express how much regret we have, how much remorse we have on the heels of what Alex & Jose talked about. I'm sorry we're in this situation today, I regret we're in this situation today. I feel horrible for our sport, our game, our fans, our organization, fans in general, the way that our team is being viewed. It was unfortunate & unnecessary. Trying to move forward in 2020.

    Why didn't players speak up?

Haven't been together, we've been separated. It's more important to stand together as a team & send one message as opposed to being spread out. Our message is clear. We regret everything. The amount of remorse is apparent & obvious.

I mean at the time. Why didn't the players stop it?

That's tough. It's a situation that until you find yourself in, you never really know what to do. I wish I had done more.

Obviously he isn't. Only people who would cry this much would be a Dodgers or Yankees fan.

Yeah, you should know the sport you’re talking about instead of thinking with your heart. Really no point in talking to you. You have made up your mind based on emotion from media reports.
If you can’t see the scapegoat-ing of a single franchise when there is more than smoke from multiple other teams, that’s on you:[/QUOTE]

    Why didn't you stop it?

No excuse for it. Wrong for everything we did in 2017. Not what we stand for or want to portray as an organization. We feel sorry. We affected careers, the game in some way. Looking back, it was bad. Wished we stopped it at the time. We didn't. ... We gotta take responsibilities for our actions.

    Buzzers?

No. That's a lie. No one wore buzzers or devices. That story should be killed. ... Straight up false. No one wore anything. ... Straight up talented players.

No one was going to move on even if they got on their knees and grovelled.

Just thought I'd share because clearly the Astros organization and quite a few Astros fans don't have any let alone know what the word means.

Honestly, if people can't move on, sounds like their problem and grudge to bear.

At least get it right. They expressed remorse and regret and apologized for the situation they put the MLB in. After that, yes, next step is to move on and rally together. Not much else to do.

They admitted they cheated. I don't remember A-rod begging for forgiveness. No matter how much they apologize, to some it will never be enough.

Marwin Gonzalez was the only one that did that.

Crane, Altuve, Bregman, etc. have expressed remorse for being caught.

They admitted they broke the rules. They can't admit they had an advantage

    Verlander:

It's been difficult. Showing up in 2017 & once I spent some time there, understood what was happening, I wish I had said more. I can't go back & reverse my decision. I wish I said more, I didn't & I'm sorry.

You made a start there. Did you suspect anything?

Can't recall at this moment. Haven't though about it.

    First reaction?

I don't want to get into specifics. We're here to apologize as a team. Those opinions were expressed by everyone in here today.
