Sure, need to pay this man, ~5m maybe? EG's contract plus whatever left may land us another 3-D long forward and serviceable center.
Next year it will be another excuse. How the F can you be so sure next year is the year. Saying stupid stuff like that leads to a key player being hurt next year. The time is always now... that’s a winners mentality. All this is a bunch of BS.
Does OP come up with the shittiest threads on here? It’s always delusional PR stuff for the FO. his last one 2 months into the season was why the rest of us don’t know what we’re talking about and this team will win a ring. news flash to @Plowman , I know it sounds harsh but we don’t give a ****. Keep your delusions to yourself. I don’t know if this is a flex move to remind people you exist or you have connections but again..nobody cares. The majority people here have a brain and know this is bs
Sick and tired of these bullshit threads. We’re already dealing with a bunch of bullshit from management and these threads just get more agitated.
If they were committed to small ball exclusively, why would they have even gone after Deandre? They’re committed to small ball now because that’s what they’ve got to work with. They needed an Ariza replacement at all costs, and it cost them the center position when they couldn’t find a good enough cheap replacement. I don’t believe that this roster is what they really want, but I don’t believe that it matters very much because this season was a do-over from the start because of the ridiculous lame duck coaching situation. A new coach might need or want a different type of roster. Bottom line is that we are about midway through a cluster**** that is playing out right before our eyes. Might as well just enjoy it. If they win that’s just a bonus.
So you want to get personal.... My friends always called me the eternal optimist. Then, through enormous tragedy and the fallout that's lasted almost two decades (a collection that would have led many to have done the Dutch 3x over), that morphed into relentless hope. Now, I live with confidence and faith. On the other side of so much, I see and experience life through different eyes...with an open heart. Enlightened & strong...with a clarity and sense of identity that I've only dreamed of. I've healed.Gone for the most part is the numbness (I'm feeling again) and jaded cynicism that is so pervasive on this board now. I'm ready to live again, but as the man my Mom raised me to be. Einstein once said..“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Which isn't to say I'm not grounded in reality, because I've lived hardcore reality...and still do to a certain extent. You know, coming full circle..having this kind of perspective, along with not taking anything for granted...It's a gift. It gives one the ability to live life deeper and fuller than most can imagine. So, you'll have to excuse this eternal optimist who is filled with hope and belief that's stronger than ever. (or not)
Optimism is the prism through which life must be lived; and to remain optimistic w/TheGoodGuys is indicative of a fan's depth.
Easily enough rectified by bulldozing BS and these threads and moving on w/life, liberty and the pursuit of a Parade.
Harden is 30, Westbrook is 31. Now is literally our apex with their talents. We should be all in right now!
This should not be seen as a knock on your OP.....I just felt the rush to partake and add few points on this season. There is nothing wrong with some positivity in life. Spoiler 1) Lame duck Mike situation - Waste of time, money....... Why not extend him? Why play his style and then sack him if he fails, why not just give him another year or two. God darn, get a grip and extend him already. Feels weird that Tilman still feels the need to give in to small ball but refuses to instill confidence on behalf of his coach. Remember the 4 game losing streak? 2) Elston Turner as second in command and 'defensive specialist' We all knew that Elston was a long serving assistant to Rick the Ruler Adelman. The Defense of that Sacramento team was mostly above average but never great, rarely elite. Seems weird posters expected so much from him. 3) Capela I have never seen people turn so fast on Capela who was a major contributor on rebounds, blocks and was a capable switch defender. Forgotten are the times when he contributed to wins with his 20-20 and Elite rebounding. Roco is a mini swiss knife but the real Swiss Mountain is missing. Covington is a jack of all trades but master of none, he is close to being a master of perimeter Defense though. The Rockets are also a Top managed team in the last decades in the West next to the Lakers, Spurs, Warriors ........and I was disappointed they didn't at least roll out a mural for Clint Capela. 4) Shot attempt allocation to the Forward spot and Penetration Why do I feel that driving to the hoop is reserved only for Westbrook, Harden and Ego/other guards? We have athletic forwards, let them just drive and finish! Why can't Westbrook share his shot attempts with the forwards? Well, I am sure you all can add more points.
The Rockets will have a hard time finding anyone that can elevate this team to a championship. EG is the only player with value that can garner interest in a potential trade. However, it’s not like he’s an all star. We needed a guy like Collins that can replace Capela at the 4 & 5 positions. No dice. We also lost out on trading for a guy like Oubre who just shredded our defense the other night. Covington is okay but he doesn’t have near the the firepower to put this team over the top. With almost all of our draft picks gone for the next 5 years and very little cap space it’s hard to imagine this team signing a high quality player or making a trade of any significance. Lets contrast Morey’s moves in comparison to Golden State. They traded for a few guys this past season that have real value, and now they’ve used those guys as trade bait to gather more draft picks. They’re tanking this season to get a lottery pick on top of a first round pick from a trade. Once Thompson returns they’ll have Wiggins, Curry, and Green to go along with a lottery pick and first rounder. Now, who has a brighter future and which GM looks smarter?
Really they just need a 5 that can rim run for Harden and space the floor for Westbrook. If he can switch on defense and rebound very nice. Hopefully we can throw the other team a couple picks as well
